VTEC's not engaging anymore but kicks in at 5900... what could it be?

so i'm assuming your EK would be a b18c2 (you can tell the difference between 2 engines by the intake manifold.. b18c2 intake manifold is reversed)

dc2r, vtec is either on or off.

and it will come on at 5800.

you wasted money getting the solenoid cleaned for nothing?

sorry to dissapoint u but its a JDM B18C.... VTEC activate at 5200 then 5800 the second runner will open up.
