It'd be easier to run a clutch engagement switch like what you use for launch control in a Hondata. Rig it up to a normally open relay that controls the starter circuit and you're on your way.
When you floorit i'm sure you put waaaay more stress on the tranny then leaving the weight of the car hanging on it... Think about it.
the US's Si has a little sensor that detects whether or not the clutch is in, and stops you from starting the car unless it's in. That'd get annoying imo.
