Kumho solus ATM but lookn at gettn ku36 or potenzas soon
small hijack here.
Those of you out there running 16's. any recommendations? running a maxxis tyre at the moment but have had some hairy times in the wet when the back tyres try to over take the fronts.
Looking to replace with same size if possible. 205/45/16........ Only one i've seen is bob jane special. not looking for track tyres as will be purchasing some 15's for that. want comfort with decent grip.
Toyo T1R's are an Awesome tyre,in the dry and wet!
Been testing it in the wet over the last week, and damn they are GREAT!
KU36's are a great motorsport tyre, they do need a bit of heat into them to grip really well, but do grip decent enough when cold... so this means that in your day to day driving you will have good grip.. but not enough to melt the tyres and wear them out quick, as with the T1R's and the 595RSR's seem to have grip straight away, and delaminate after relly being punished.. so not alot of people like the 595rsr's for street, T1R's are sorta inbetween..
if i was to rate top 3 semi slick/motorsport tyres it would be
1st KU36
2nd 595 RSR
3rd T1R
The Toyo T1R is a road tyre.
The KU36's are a semi with harder compound,so it lasts a bit longer but they do wear quickly if your covering km's..
If I still drove 1km to work like I used to I would try the KU36's but I'm driving 60km's to work,so they would wear far too quickly.
im also considering adrenalin 195/55 over the ku36 205/50. Ku36 are bit more expensive so leaning towards the bridgestones. Thoughts on this problem ppl? Past experience?
I'ma go with the KU31's next,$80-$100 each and they sound worth trying!
KU36's wear too quick from what I was told.
KU31's are best value for performance, wear, noise and price IMO
