yup especially when its just on a generalised turbo'd engine.. If you are really considering to convert with an engine from a totally different make, at least get something worth spending the money on. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind Sr20det's, they are good strong engines. After all I have one myself. However, seriously think about the $$$ involved, the power and torque you want to achieve from this engine.. is it really possible? Also turboing your current NA maybe a nice little challenge for you too. I would probably shop around a bit more, ring up a few places and ask their opinions.

ok my prelude will run into the 12s quite easily... if you cant put a civic into low 13's-high 12's with the set up i have, let me drive:cool: lol haahaha

just kiddin. but theres a big weight difference between my lude and your civic, it couldnt be that hard having a proper 'built' bottom end and a T04 turbo hangin off it, no need to change cams or anything top end unless you wanted to go harder and set higher goals for the car.

but thats my 2c and also talking from owning a turbo honda experience.

turbo the 'D'. dont wreck ya Honda with a nissan engine. turbo d's go dam hard too!

If you've got lots of money to burn and want a 2L turbo, why not transplant a b20turbo? hell you can even put a vtec head on if your so inclined.

Thinking of sr20det into civic = alittle crazy

possible = Yes

Cost = initial engine....plus parts.....plus custom fabrication work....plus engineering....plus brake upgrade....plus...misc.....plus RTA this and that.....= $$$$$.


Easier , cheaper , more reliable and probably overall better idea as im sure most have said here is to either turbo your exisiting engine ( no matter what engine it is ....a decent result !) , OR inplant a newer Dseries or B series or K series engine and OR turbo that one too.

I do not believe anything else needs to be said in this thread...perhaps research around some american sites as im sure someone has done this kind of conversion elsewhere- Best of luck !
