No need to be put off man, and your dead right. For that money your going to be looking for something nice and clean, not immaculate. Just when you go test drive it, ask him to get road worthy for it, ESPECIALLY if hes not keen on negotiating price. If he knocks $500 off or something, then maybe... But general rule is he should be confident to go and get it inspected... All the more so if it's his own work.
Would i have the test drive, or get my mechanic to look at it first, or both at the same time? He lives at Karalee and my Mechanic is at Sunnybank, he didnt seem keen to drive up, as he works 6 days a week
Do both in one hit man. Unless you go drive it first and it's a piece of shit, saving your mechanic his time.
Itd be much easier that way aswell, cause he lives about 45 mins away, just cover his petrol costs or sumthing
go with yr trusted mechanic if u had no VTEC experience b4
there're always sth only a mechanic can tell
if the seller is a mechanic i cant see why he can make the car RWC
RWC can be costly but if u know some ppl, it can be at no cost
anyway, there has to be sth hidden up
if available, ask yr mechanic frd to do a compression test if he has the tools
I personally havnt had any Vtec experience, But my Mechanic is a Vtech expert, as is my brothers friend who is helping me to find a car n stuff
all cars are the same, regardless of vtak or not... as long as its got 4 wheels an a motor, mechanics will see all cars the same, as long as the mech has had experience in honda engines, an knows what to look out on the B-series than it be piece of cake to find the faults of that car
Yeah, i think i will just cover his Petrol to come to Sunnybank so my mechanic can check it out and test drive it if is all good, no use getting a RWC before it gets checked
nah lol
i mean if OP is going alone and he doesn't know how a good condition B16 should perform
then he should go with his mechanic
Spotted this EM1 Vtir Couple aswell, its absolutly stock, low K's and very clean, http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=12A06C4B655F
It would make a nice project i reckon, any thoughts?
Do the Coupe Vtirs still go good even tho they are heavier?
i would prefer that EM1
obviously it is well kept
