tuners etc, usually rev it till the limiter kicks in on dyno runs, so hitting the limiter for a split second on a downshift shouldn't worry it. especially considering this is hondas hand built type R engine we're talking about here.

That's a result of valve float due to valve springs.
A lite back story might be nice because you don't mention if its stock or what.

although it isnt standard, it has flat face valves so it may have high lift cams and some pretty gnarly timing too. they get up to some pretty highly strung setups in the US.
You should do it again, if nothing happens the second time then you're all good.
