You can't just swap your current 242mm rotors with 282mm rotors as easy as everyone is saying. you'll need to change your front hubs to 262mm hubs, THEN you will be able to change the rotors to 282mm.
yeah think of the weight to gains, yes you dont have massive power but youd still get to some pretty high speeds down the straight and need that braking through most corners, just try the ek4 set up and decent fluid, braided lines and good pads and rotors, although first id just try good fluid and pads...
on a side note though, if you have 240/242 whatever brakes... how do you upgrade to the 262/282, what hubs?
I think I'll just take the car for a run on stockies with new pads and fluids and see how she goes. Just a reminder that this is just prospective and won't be necessary for another 3 months-ish, but cheers for all the knowledge!
Dc2 vtir 262mm is direct bolt on to eg hubs. 282 you need either dc2r or first gen crv hubs
honestly i think you will be fine with your stock system but get some good pads and rotors and if u need you can up grade later, honestly to expect 100kw form this stock car isnt gonna happen even brand new the car was rocking what 75 kw? intake and exhaust wont give you a 25% increase in power over what the car was doing when it was new. i think that honestly this money is beter spent going to more practice track days...... that will give u better times.
No its not. I bolted vti-r calipers and rotors directly on the front of my EG
In the UK we bolt MG ZR 282 calipers on (EBC blanks were cheap in UK), run prelude calipers with a little shaving and have 282 setup on our 262 hubs. If you can get hold of both those parts any easier then DC2 parts here, maybe try that?
