Oil Cooler For Dc2r

no mate. you seem to be pretty confused about the concept of an oil cooler.
the cooler itself can be mounted in the front, like a radiator. two lines coming from the cooler into the sandwich plate. the plate is like a spacer that you put in between the block and the oil filter when it comes to installing.

Oh. So the sandwich plate autually screws in to the spot where u normally put ur oil filter and then ur oil filter goes on the sandwich plate, is that right??

I have fitted several Oil coolers to eg,ek and dc2 the only problem that i have encounted is the Price!!!! but I figured it out!!!! there are no other problems associated with them,and they are a great thing to have, as not only do they cool the oil down but they can hold any where from 0.5-1 liters of extra oil!

Here's what you do: get an oil cooler from a fc Rx7 13b turbo, (long and skiny) which will run the lenth of the radiatior in a dc5 anyway, go to enzed and buy 2x 90 deg bends and 2 straight fittings, while you're there get of high tem oil lines, and last but no least a sandwhich plate from any good race shop, make sure you get the plate first so you can messure up the fitings, there you go! All up I priced one the other day and it came to 375!!! cheap as aposed to 768 when I did my first one, and the cooler was half the size!!!!!

u can get those parts (clamps, hoses, bends etc) from pirtek, rare spares and auto 1 aswell

Garage-R a family friend has an rx-7 cooler. he said i can have it if i want. i was thinking of buying something aftermarket, but have also heard good things bout the rx-7 one. whats your opinion?

Where, and how do you fit an oil temp guage? (the sensor bit under the bonnet I mean), not the guage it self.

fit the sensor to the sump oil bolt which KHS makes it

what about oil pressure gauge, Im assuming ud tap it into one of he cooler lines or am I wrong??
Also does HKS make an ready to bolt in bolt with the temp sensor already in??

don't waste you time drill all those holes, just go and buy yourself a Trust sandwish plate, it will fit both the oil temp and pressure sensors. The shop in Springvale Rd and Whitehorse Road sells them.

will that trust sandwich plate fit the hoses for an oil cooler aswell?

I don't think so.
