spare key for ek civic???

oops forgot to add, can someone tell me where exactly my 'kill switch' is in my car, incase i have to put my chip next to it.. civic EK1 late '95

When i bought my car its rubber surrounding had fallen off, didnt look very pretty. We went and had 2 new keys cut. Very expensive exercise (we needed spares anyway).

I did mine recently in West Ryde it cost me $79 including programing

got my key done for 70 something bucks.... somewhere in plumpton..


programming and all...

you have no change programming the OEM black key into an EK1 with out the red key,
you best bet would be to seel the key or try to get a refund.

the black ring arount the ignition lock is the reciver for the RFID transponder in the key.

Does that mean you had both the Red Key and the Black Key? Care to share whereabouts in West Ryde and the name of the place? :thumbsup:

I did mine with only the black key didn't need the red one cos i don't have it. They never even needed it or asked for it anyway. Key works fine no issues at all.

i already bought the black key, n i was told that cutting n programming was roughly 50bux at peter warren warrick farm? as someone said 70? lets hope not for my sake. lol

my black key is actually made of solid plastic surrounding so i can never haf the same prob

and that 1 key is the only key that can start the car, got a spare, but nly works wif doors
so its about 70$ for a spare that will start the car ey?

I'm able to modify the OBD2 ECU's to be able to accept any key with transponder in it.
