this mainly.
NONE of the aus delivered cars were releaced with the ZC. Hence the reason why NO ONE can tune it for me and why most people who work withhondas no squat about it. The ZC was released in the J-Spec Civic Si and CRX, some made there way to europ to my knowlage coz thats where I found most of my info on them. They're apparently a strong track car, I dunno why I think its a sluggish piece of shit, never the less if pulls a stock J-Spec 91' EG-5 Civic Si hatch to 100km/h in 8 secs.Quote:
yeh the ZC motor. Si CRX and Si civic had them only for a few years tho.
I've also seen some crazzy stuff on here, most of it mixed up with J-Spec and aussy delivered.
I added the weight for you.

Thats basically all my civic info. Hope its helped.
I'm sorry but you are incorrect with this statement:
THe ONLY non VTEC Civic released in AU which is DOHC is he Si which was released between 1991-1993. I know cause I have one. And it is THIS engine (the d16a8) which is seen as the 'equivalent' to the ZC.Quote:
The 93-94 engine is a DOHC (not that it counts but its power is at 6600) other details have been added.
EDIT: In regards to the weight, I have the hatch comming in at arund 1020KGs with the sedan at 1046Kg.
all aussy specs are quoted from http://www.carsales.com.au car research, their details are factory details and are only filled out where available.
The jap stuff is from personal experience, ie my user manual and someone who owned an EG-9 and promptly corrected my error of 118kwts with 127 due to the higher comp and something else but me forgot.
thanks for putting 'equivalent' in inverted comma's because people would get confussed and think its just got a different engine number. If it were that simple I could get performance parts from aus and not have to import the very rare ones from the US. The ZC also doesn't like boost apparently where as the d16a copes a lot better. oh well shit happens, get the b18 soon enough.
heres the exact extract:

That source is wrong.
If you read that you will see it says Civic VTi is DOHC when it clearly is not.
I looked at that site around a year and a half ago and when I noticed such an important mistake I realised it is NOT accurate.
EDIT: As for the Jap stuff i'm not an expert on that, hence I never reffered to Jap stuff. All AUDM.

Ummm... HUH???? - the EF/ED Aussie delivered '88-'89 CRX had the ZC in them - halfway through the 2nd gen CRX run they changed it's designation to D16 (second gen because we never got the first gen). Exactly the same engine though. Did I mention that the first gen Integra also ran the ZC?Quote:

no one has posted specs on 1st - 3rd gen civics yet??
I'll see if I can find anything later.
I also know with the ED civic hatches the earlier models are single carb, and the later models like my mum's old 90 hatch was twin carb.
3rd Gen civic GL specs:
Engine code EW2
Engine location Front
Engine orientation Transverse
Capacity (cm3) 1488
Fuel system type Carb
Maximum power 63kW @ 6000rpm
Maximum torque 125Nm @ 3500rpm
I don't know if those figures are correct :p but I used to own a 3rd gen civic, and it went pretty well for a little run about.
Who the hell let you in here Quyen? :P  :P
Umm... my '88 GL was also twin-carb ;)
