This will be true if you are at a constant throttle position at both levels, but obviously, in these two different situations, power output will be vastly different.
In my very first post, I said that fuel usage was proportional to POWER OUTPUT, not RPM.
I can floor it at 1,000rpm and use more fuel than some situations at 7,000.
If you are accelerating at the same rate, then it doesn't really matter what rpm's you are using (as long as you are not in a range where torque is dropping off immensly) you will still get pretty much the same fuel economy.

3.5-4k is perfect.
2.5k - 3.5krpm.. just for comfortable driving, not because of saving fuel, just so i don't get slammed in my seat once vtec kicks in LOL
