if you want it reasonably quiet down low and open up higher up on full throttle is probably this exhaust....

The ATS was developed as a high performance evolution to the standard tail pipe silencers available in the market today. While many people enjoy the power gains of a racing exhaust on the track, often times these systems require a silencer to be installed in the tip for use on the street. While sound output can be dramatically lowered using a non-adjustable silencer, unfortunately response and power tend to suffer due to increased exhaust gas restriction. The ATS (Active Tail Silencer) uses the same active valve technology as the PS Revolution exhaust system. The spring loaded valve is engaged and disengaged based upon exhaust gas pressure. This allows for effective sound suppression for the street, without the power loss under high load. Dyno tests have proven power levels to be nearly identical to an exhaust using no silencer at all.
* Please note that, due to the tapered tip of the N1 Evolution exhaust system the ATS Silencer WILL NOT fit properly. This is only true for the N1 EVOLUTION mufflers, all other exhaust systems will fit without problems.

On the topic on silencers, looking at the silencers on Apexi's site ... it seems its possible for me to get any exhaust I want. And, aslong as a silencers exists that fits on the tip, I should be run to chose whatever I want? I'd love a Buddy Club Spec 3, and a silencer I can clip on/off whenever I wish - Best of both worlds.
Although, from the replies, I think even if I went with the Fujitsubo Power Getter - I wouldnt be too disapponted.?
Umm.....i guess if the tip is the same all you would have to do is make a hole if there isnt one already there to screw in the silencer......i have an apexi gt-spec exhaust myself and had to connect it up after i got defected and it lowered noise by about 8dbs......

but a normal cat-back will definately give u more top end power as the standard exhaust is restictive due to the resonators.. much more free flowing around 6-8000 rpm... can feel the vtec more, especially in a vtir integra as it suffers from a bit of performance up top due to the intake manifold design...

True you can put a silencer on the Apexi N1 but the sound the exhaust makes with the silencer on is just crap. It is a lot quieter but the exhaust note sounds like a pee wee, I know bcoz i have one. If you want a quiet exhaust just stay away from canon style mufflers.Quote:
