Accord Euro 06 Sat Nav question

i tried the address that raaj pm'd me and no i couldn't find it on our sat nav...
but but...raaj.. i tried to search ur street by using whereis on-line map and again it couldn't find the street... so i'd say there's a large opportunity that the info about ur street has been missing...

up to date now... i didn't have single complaint about the SAT NAV..
and i do agree that Honda might be liable for hardwares but then again the data in the DVD is abosolutely up to the company who distribute the map DVD..( in this case.. Whereis and sensis?!) i think it then makes a hardtime for their customers ( Honda, and maybe others)

I think it is the map provider's fault. I have a hand held GPS unit that has summer 2004 maps in it. That's just 1 year old. But there are roads that have been around for quite a while that are not in the mapping software.

I agree we can't expect brand new streets to be in a sat nav vehicle. The issue here is raaj says he moved into the area in 2001. Now if you think that is acceptable you must be joking. I would expect more from someone who works at a Honda dealership instead of passing the buck. The age of the maps is not good enough and I think my comments are justified.

i see wat ur saying and i missed the part where he has been there sinse 2001.
The sat nav is a big thing for honda and we havnt had it for an option for ages coz japan didnt think we have the market for it!
But Honda does not make the maps so once again if that street RAAJ is not on the sat nav map its SENSIS's fault not hondas....there is a number he can ring on his dvd cover to find out what they can do to fix it...

and i am far from passing the buck, im going on what i have been told in sat nav training and other sources from honda that is all.

^^ very true.... how much is a fully optioned up lux euro 06' compared to the 05'

cause sat nav can be good.... and convenient but end of the day it's just being lazy from reading a map.... reading a map shouldn't be so hard u look at the map and it tells u where u are ... just some common sense will save money...

true! the RRP for an auto one is around 50k drive away

but everyone knows i do much better than that lol :D

I just had an interesting conversation with a sales guy at Honda Parramatta. He advised that when you buy the Euro Lux with Sat nav, you get a login user account and password with the car. You remove the disc from the drive in the car and you put it in the burner on your computer. You then log onto a website and download the latest map updates and rewrite them onto the disc.

Is this correct or is he full of ****?

I wasn't told this when I got my Euro with Sat Nav, anyone else heard this crap ?

unless i'm a total computer noob, this would mean that there data cd/dvd is re-writerable (i doubt it). me also thinks if you can burn it, then you could use any blank dvd/cd.. ( as long as it's the rite format +RW - RW RAW etc)
Also if they have been charging $400-$500 dollars for an update and getting it, i doubt there going to start giving it away.

but hey i been wrong before.
