yes to an extent i guess...pending on what your looking for, better response? better top end?

intake: CAI (injen, hks, aem) or an CAI box type thing..(mugen and comptech ones) are design more for responsiveness....
whereas a SRI (injen, aem, j's racing) i would say are more for top end speed

extractors: 4-2-1 - low to mid range (responsiveness)
4-1 - mid to high range (top end speed)
brands - toda, spoon, mugen, hytec, smsp etc... good brands....x-force wouldnt recommend on a type r buh i have no experience so yerr..see what others who have type r think about it..

exhaust: 2.25-2.5 seems the way to go with any decent cat back seems to do the job...

i second all that! very good info

Cold air intake is THE way to go. Try searching Injen or AEM CAI's or if you can, run a stainless pipe from your throttle body to the front bar. That way the air filter is blocked from any engine heat. Any car tuner will agree with this.
