yeh, i'm not too stressed atm, but hopefully i'm going to make it to the dyno day thats coming up in syd, so i'd like to have a guesstimate to start off with. i'm in an auto as well, so it'll be interesting what gear they reckon i should be in

Quikteg: How did you get a d16a8 in your teg? Did you make custom mounts for it?

My gen1 crx came with the motor standard. Its an AS model, same as Si CRX which came out in 85. Its one of a kind here in WA at least being an 84 and having a dohc motor factory. all gen1s were imports so you're right... never sold here.
the d16a3 is definatly rated at 125, the american verson of the same engine , the d16a1 is rated at 118.
Ive tested my car out on a piece of road around here that is maked out for 400m and i hit aroung 145 so ime definaltly hoping for mid 15's.
Damn fat 85...That's a nice terminal speed bro. Well done. Can't wait to see the results of running it down the strip.
hey luke, since you swapped the engine, did you still have to engineer it and also put on a cat?
no i didnt have to have it engineered since it is less than a 20% increase in capacity and i didnt have to modify and mounts to make it fit, but to change the engine number over on the rego papers i had to get a blueslip, im not sure if i HAD to do this but i got defected for a loud exhaust before i'd changed it over and the coppers made me get a full blueslip inspection before i could clear the defect and while the mechanic was checkin my car out he realised it wasn't the stock engine so he did the form and stuff up for me to get the number changed over.
