props to you saxman, for helping out this guy regardless of the fact that we constantly ignore your advice.
yeh man, that 3 prong plug goes in the part of your car that you normally plug into the BULB. The will be found somewhere near the headlight, and have 3 slots for those prongs.
-
ummm the there is only 1 3 pong to feed the power into the whole hid kit? do i just plug it into any one of the headlights original power feed? or is there only one anyways
destrukshn, nick told me u installed a few kits like these already. its near my passenger headlight right?
-
yeah, just plug it into any.
one, the closest one would be the passenger one.
-
hmm i think i might install it near driver side as they is much more room there.
power steering bottle n other bits n pieces gets in the way on the passenger side. where did you put it destrukshn?
-
you can do that, if you extend the wires to the battery terminal, if you don't, extend em, then you can't put it on the passenger side.
-
THe three prong ins't for power, that what the relay is for, the three prong is just the signal to to tell the kit to go high beam or low beam. :)
-
ok this is now im connect it
3 parts, my bulb, my transformer, my wires with the ground/3 pong/connectors
1/ bulb (3 wires) which 2 goes into the transformer, and another go to the a connect on the wire.
2/ transformer (2 wires, 1 hole), 2 wires are connect to my bulb, and 1 connector from my wire to my transformer'.
3/ connect all the relevant ground wires onto the chassis, connect one wire into my bulb, one into my transformer, and the 3 pong to any existing headlight assembly.
is this correct???
now im alil confused. where does the power go into my HID kit?? does it come from the 3 pong?
-
the set up should be pulling power from the battery. That said, you're using an hid kit that is by no means known for it's high quality craftsmanship, so there's really know way to know exactly what's going on.
How many little ring terminals are there? Does one have a fuse near it? Chances are that's the one that connects to the positive terminal of the battery.
Lay the wiring harness out on the bed, with all the different connectors seperated and take a picture... I'll try to tell you what connects where.
-
ok they they is 3 rings. 1 for each transformaer and 1 ring on its own which have 2 fuse on it. do i connect that ring to the positive batterY?
atm i have all 3 on the chassis cos i duno wich to connect.
i turn on the power all i hear is a click frmo the transformer, no charging sound and no light.
so do i connect that ring with the two fuse connect to it to the positive battery terminal??
-
here are the ring with the fuse on it. do i connect it to the postive battery terminal or where do i plug it??

and here is the 3 pong, i just plug this into any headlight existing connector thats connect to my bulb before yes??

-
yes, the one with the fuses is the positive line.
plug the three pronged one in right there
And be VERY sure that the bulbs are plugged into the ballasts before turning anything on.
-
so i plug the positive ring into the battery itself. am i correct?
