tapping into door interior light

Guys,all very simple.

Its all at the under dash fuse box.

For positive(12V),get a female spade terminal & plug it into one of the spare terminals on the front of the fuse box,theres about 5 of them.One or two of them will be permanent supplies,the others will activate at various positions of the ignition key.Just test which one is on all the time.Also put an appropriate fuse in this wire,& then feed to the lights your installing.

Yes the door switch is a ground switch.It grounds the lights so they can activate.
This wire appears at the integrated control unit clipped into the rear of the fuse box.It will be in a connector ,seperate from all the other rear connectors,plugged into the back of fuse box closest to the passenger side.

Most likely a green/red wire(check what colour it is at the passenger door switch,not the drivers door switch).Just tap a connection off this to lead to the lights.Test the wire grounds out when u open & close the door by pulling the connector out & testing,before u cut anything.

I got a spare DC2 fuse box here,let me know if u want pics.

BTW the ceiling switch will not affect the lights if u install this way,if u want them to come on with ceiling switch as well,then u need to run a wire up to the switch.

ooo ok so basically..

the wires which is on the door sensor is the ground..

grab a positive wire (prolly just connect directly to battery? or any suggestion where exactly i should connect too) with a fuse between?

OH MAEN! so i need to grab the + from the ceiling?

What i meant by the ceiling switch,is if you want to be able to turn new lights on as well by flicking the switch to 'ON',then u need to run a wire to the ceiling light.

If your satisfied to just have them come on by opening door,then just tap into fuse box wiring.

Or u could just add a seperate switch in the ground wire to lights,with a seperate permanent ground feeding onto the switch,to toggle lights on/off at your leisure.

what i did.. i didnt exactly follow what u posted crxer as i dont wna take my fuse box apart or pull it off..

i basically wired the + to a alwaiz on line, ie my fog light power source/amp powersource

then i wired the ground to the wires (2 from each side of the door) !

so like what i said?

U dont have to pull anything apart,just disconnect the plug from the back of the fuse box to make it easier to tap into the door switch wire & plug one wire into the front.

Not quite sure what u mean by "2 from each side of the door",but if u done what i think u done,u might find yourself getting sick of the key reminder & lights left on buzzer going off everytime u stop to let a passenger out of the car.

there 2 gground wires, 1 wire from the sensor at the passenger door the other from the drivers door which connect to a plug then output as 2 wires too which is wierd

yeh my car buzzes all the time when lights are on and doors open! its ***n annoying BUT hey it reminds me that i left my light on!

U only need to connect to the passenger door switch.

The drivers door will still activate the light & your buzzer reminder circuit will work as normal,but u wont get that annoying buzz when u drop off a passenger & your trying to talk to them while they still have the door open.

well what i did..

the 2 wires connect into a plug which come from another 2 wires which my alarm is connected to, i basically just connected to that single wire that my alarm uses?

should this be ok?
