pull off the lower dash cover, and peer up under the dash, see that wad of wiring going to the black box. Thats the alarm

Consider that $600 Wasted. JB HiFi rarely do good alarm installs.

And thiefs aren't dumb they can shut down ur siren before they even open the car door.

Microwave Sensors have a huge tendency to false, they really are garbage.

so what makes an alarm a "good alarm"??????

That was the question and the answer is get an alarm fitted! at the end of the day if someone wants to break in your car or drive off with it they will!

an alarm just makes the job harder....a club lock isnt a bad investment either!

if a theif passes your car and sees a flashing light and a club lock im sure theyl think twice!

Ive got a Brant (Keypad Alarm, like on Wrexxys), very good alarm system.
The lights look crazy at night when all the numbers on the keypad flash in cool random patterns.
Cost about 1000 though. Better to shop around and consider your options.

That's about right.

I'm actually relocating all my alarm to other areas of the car for the time being. -- In the coming weeks I'll be getting a Rhino RAv2.. 3-Point, Australian Standard Approved and Insurance Backed.

$600 installed would have got you what I'm getting.

The Codealarm wouldn't be a 3-point. Just for installs, Strathfield charge $550 for 3-points. Rediculous prices for mediocre work.
