Are 17" Rims too big for a DC4? + more questions

Please save money to do it properly. Cut springs can be dangerous. They can sometimes fall out on rebound thanks to the shock travelling further than your spring. Cut springs are also poorly matched to your shocks and will see a shorter lifespan for your shocks. Just do the job right the first time. Save up money and get a decent spring/shock combo or coilovers a little later.

Eibach aren't cheap by any stretch. They're a premium European brand. If you want cheap springs get King or K-Mac. But remember, you get what you pay for.

Still thinking about a lip kit instead of lowering. What would you all suggest?

definatley lower it first, it will look so much better with the less gap between the wheel arches.

i have 17's on my teg and lowered around 3.5 inches and i think it looks and feel great. some work had to be done to the front inner wheel arches (bashing and removing of areas) but its all good now :)

Those wheels are 5 stud.... Arent DC4's 4 stud?

I got my springs cut, noticed afterwards that it makes alot more noise, like clunking and shit.

They are multi-stud so fit pretty much all stud types (I believe)

Does the drive quality deteriorate after cutting springs?

I havent noticed a real difference, just gotta go up gutters, driveways and speedhumps slower than i used to.

hey man if the rims are five stud and multi fit the will only fit 5 stud cars just with diffrent 5 stud pattern , so if u have four stud i dont think it will fit unless it is 4 stud multi fit , i had 19'' on my teg for about 2 weeks until i got defected and almost ripped my front bar off. The car use to scrape and rub everywere. im going back to seventeen or eighteen , i think 17'z is the way to go cause they are not to big and still handel quit well got for speed as well.
with cutting the springs it really depends on how many coils you take off to how bumpy it will get, i have cut the springs in a few cars all seems to go well no problems . JUST MAKE SURE YOU CUT THEM ALL EVEN IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CUT DONT WANT CAR DIFFRENT HEIGHTS. good luck

With cutting springs is it actually legal? So I can go to a local suspension place and get it cut?
I only wish to cut as much so that there isn't that noticeable tyre gap
How many inches would you recommend it be dropped?

depends how low u want to go like i think mayb one an a half to two inches wuld look good , not sure if a tyre place will do it , dont think it wold be to legal aswell. well not for insurance purposes it may not be, but if the car is higher then 100mm at the lowest point then it should be fine

cutting springs is illegal man and if u wanted to do it then u'd have to get someone to do it as a backyard job.. i think why not if u'r only gona do it temporarily but over the long term ur better off getting aftermarket springs.. also have u thought about resetting ur springs instead? its safer than cutting them..
