i did the same thing. works a treat. + rep for innovation and having the DBG spirit.
Done this the other day with new bootbag aswell, preety nifty trick! Looks the part and took about 5 mins to do and ziptied my RCA cables under glovebox aswell so took about 15 mins all up together!
