Let me jump on the band wagon, I have an 06 FD1 Auto and have used nothing but standard 91 RON from local woolworths garage which I believe is Caltex. To date my fuel consumption figure is 51,363kms - 3,462.69 liters - average consumption = 6.768 L/100km
Tyre pressure 34 PSI. i consistantly get 350 to 360 from first 1/2 tank & have never had the low fuel warning light come on under 590km. When all lights on fuel gauge disappear you have 5 liters remaining.
the ron in fuel is not the %age of octane is it??cause i remembered seeing 105 in HK...i mean 105%??huh??
i think its the percentage of octane thats supose to be in normal fuel.. lets say normal fuel contains 10% octane.. and the rest is other chemicals.. so if i put more octane.. say 14%.. then that would be premium.. because that would mean its only 96% of the other chemical.. =S. im just guessing tho.. but sounds about right.
what do you guys think of the E-10 ethanol fuel?
e10 i think is shit, was waiting 4 buddah to school us lil boys...i thought bp ultimate was d best??
i know a caltex refueler dude and he explained a few things about caltex fuel, which several other peoples confirmed as well. caltex fuel is guaranteed to be a minimum of 98 octane, in general its a few points higher.
once a refueler half filled the 98 tank with 95 premium fuel, it was half full before he realised. caltex tested the octane rating on that mixed 95/98 tank and it was still a 98 rating and they were able to sell it rather than drain the tank
apparently bp ultimate, excellent fuel as it is, runs at 98 octane. i used to use noting but bp ultimate but now use nothing but caltex, either way they are both good but i feel that i get better fuel economy and much better power when i want it with caltex 98

Just wondering though.. i prob wont be running 98 on mine.. most likely 95. I have had a string of bad luck by going to fuel stations that run 91 and i feel that my engine isnt liking it.. but im thinking its more psychological.. lol
anyways.. if 95RON at caltex is good that would be awesome cuz there is one literally 30sec from my home.
LOL.....why wait for me to comment. As i have previously said on this forum by using E10 you will decrease performance by appox 10%, and increase fuel consumption by about the same margin. The is a lot of information on Ethenol fiel on the internet for those who are willing to spend the time and research.

...remembering the caltex story, same goes with their 95ron fuel...its a minimum 95 octane, usually much more so it probably runs at 98 anyways. good luck and enjoy :-)
