Oh I do feel for Honda's foolishness...
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headline...31093053.shtml
The much-feted Virgin linkup, estimated by analysts as worth millions of dollars in terms of TV exposure alone in Melbourne, is still just a $500,000 two-race deal, with most of the 2009 budget coming from money pledged by Honda in order to keep the team alive and avoid staff redundancy payouts.
I think they will get sponsors on board so their budget will be stable, also honda is giving them lots $$$$ and I think next season honda may even start making engines for them again (and some other teams), they will need this for their marketing and what better way to do it than be part of winning F1 team, they made a very good base with this 09 car and it will run well for next few years and honda will definitly want to be in cos they realy deserve credit for this success, just look how much publicity is "honda" getting even they are not officialy in.
i dont see honda participating in F1 for a very long time if ever again
lolol...
from what i've read Honda have a clause to come back into the team if they wish... thought i duno how reliable this info is...
some good news to start the morning with

funding the team and not getting credit..
Ozhonda.. lets get $500,000 and sponsor a race...
FARK.. we be awesome. I salute me
hahahahahaha
suck shit cf
good - did he get fined too? or is it just because he's LH he don't get fined for bullshitting, there trulli coped a fine?
Thank god... Trulli deserved that podium,...
My thoughts exactly... Though you do have to feel for 'Dave Ryan'... 35 years at McLaren and he gets fired (Well, "suspended" for now)... He started out as a simple mechanic! And worked his way up the ranks... Got promoted last year in fact, to "Sporting Director"
I hope he got fined... Redbull got fined for a mistake, McLaren should too...

Hamilton considered quitting over Oz GP
By Simon Strang Saturday, April 4th 2009, 23:43 GMT
http://www.autosport.com/images/upload/1238889221.jpgLewis Hamilton considered quitting McLaren, and even Formula 1, over the controversy surrounding his exclusion from last week's Australian Grand Prix, according to a report in The Sunday Times newspaper.
The newspaper claims that the world champion was talked out of walking away from the sport by FIA president Max Mosley, after Hamilton contacted the governing body to express his frustration that McLaren had misled him over the affair.
The Briton was disqualified from the Melbourne results after the stewards deemed he and McLaren sporting director Dave Ryan had 'deliberately misled' them about a radio conversation that took place after he had passed Toyota driver Jarno Trulli behind the safety car.
Hamilton and his father Anthony are reported to have been furious that his public perception had been tarnished by the affair, and both apparently insisted McLaren allow him to take the unprecendented step of holding a press conference in the FIA media centre so he could come clean about the situation.
He subsequently made an emotional open apology to the stewards and his fans. "I was misled and that is the way it went," he told the press. "I would like to say a big sorry to all my fans who have believed in me, who have supported me for years, who I showed who I am for the past three years, and it is who I am. I am not a liar. I am not a dishonest person.
Bernie Ecclestone told the Daily Mail: "Lewis is terribly upset but his father is even more upset having his son called a cheat. Anthony has brought Lewis up not to be like that and he is disappointed somebody has called him a liar when he isn't deliberately lying."
Hamilton's future with McLaren now remains unclear. BBC commentator Martin Brundle pointed out in his Sunday Times column today that the 24-year-old could walk free from his multi-year contract citing a breach on the team's behalf.
"McLaren could also now be perceived to be in breach of Lewis's contract for bringing him into disrepute especially as a senior team member has taken the whole rap," said Brundle, who raced for McLaren in 1994. "This would make him a free agent if he wanted to move teams."
Brundle also suggested that the scandal may stay with Hamilton forever. "The Briton's reputation has understandably taken a battering but a sense of perspective is required here.
"He will recover from this in time but he will have to live with the stigma in perpetuity, just as [Michael] Schumacher does. It will always be mentioned in his epitaph."
dntcry, i say harden the fcuk up.
Another win for button.
Stupid rain halting the race.
another stupid decision by the FIA.. especially bernie.. 5pm start in low light when they know it always rains heavily in the afternoon...
what a bunch of idiots..
good race but shulda started earlier.. and the big goof the fia did at the end with the clock and everything else (ie postponing the race and making people wait anxiously when the race was over a long time ago)... tsk tsk
raiko likes his ice creams.. hehehe
Blame the organisers for starting the race later to cater to the European viewers. If they started as per regular time, they would have avoided the rain.
loved those spectators who did a group mud slide lol
^^^ saw up that chicks skirt
so yeah another one for button and cf didnt get shit, happy
"Felipe baby stay cool" LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrQhP-HuZNA
man good shit... jenson wins again.... but farrrrk anyone see the lap times he pulled out after trulli pitted... a SECOND faster than the previous fastest time... amazing...
regarding the 5pm start... bernie/fia r idiots for not changing the race time to say even 4pm... that way they woulda avoided the rain...
ridiculous... u woulda thought after the info they have regarding the weather they woulda moved the start time fwd an hour..
that cu*t is goin bald bad...
I was actually hoping rain would come down... But not so much that they had to stop the bloody race...
Rain always shakes things up and I knew that rain was the only hope Webber had to get up there... Pitty for him they stopped the race, cause the RBR was a demon in the initial wet stages... Mark is pretty good in monsoonal wet conditions as well (2007).
true that...
but the rain that was expected was gona be monsoonal ... torrential stuff...
so taking that into account.. it woulda been wise to change the start time...
Button's gf is hot.... yummy
anyone see rubens walking 'back to the pits alone lols... not a happy chappy...
too bad it got washed out..
the race started well.. but yea
button
Hope it's not a BRAWN whitewash this year (ala Ferrari 2004)....
God that year was a snooze... The only highlights of that year were Kimi at Spa and Montoya at Sao Palo ...
(But guys... How f*ckin sexy were the 2004 cars... God V10 beasts... I think they will be the fastest cars of this decade...)

Brilliant. Even more brill that a couple of mins later Luca was like "we might have him back out..." no mate, Kimi has gone!
any of you think that vettel is gonna end webber's career? he's just smashing him.
I was quite pissed off that a good race was cut short, I dont know why they based the timing of the race when they knew Sepang was known to have heavy showers around 6ish Sepang time, with knowing this information they put the race during this time, i dont care if its for the viewers in Europe because all they got to see was a race then never happened, so the drivers get half points for a half race, so the fans should get half their money back!
media and advertising revenue... it's not about the spectators at the race or the European audiences, its about clever marketing techniques and making sure these big corporate brands get as much public exposure as possible for their big dollars spent. as much as i love F1, its predominantly just a marketing circus!
I remember reading somewhere that, racing cars used to be in the colours of which country they came from, ie British racing green is from England, silver is from Germany like how you used to see them in the olden days, now the colours of the cars are in the colours of the sponsors.
I think this is was the one?

the diffuser saga will hopefully come to an end today...
the court of appeals ruling will be heard in a few hours...

F1's governing body will on Wednesday announce the verdict of the FIA International Court of Appeal hearing in relation to the diffuser saga.
In front of nearly 40 involved lawyers, officials and team personnel, the panel of judges heard the hearing for eight hours in Paris on Tuesday.
The future unity of the Formula One Teams' Association came under intense pressure, as the technical arguments veered into personal attacks, with Brawn, Williams and Toyota accused of fielding illegal cars by their rivals.
Ferrari QC Nigel Tozzi led the charge for the appellants, accusing the team's former long-time Technical Director Ross Brawn of 'supreme arrogance'.
Brawn returned fire, accusing Ferrari designer Rory Byrne of making arguments that were 'vindictive' and amounted to a 'fishing expedition'.
When twice asked to withdraw his slight against his former friend, Brawn insisted: "We are on opposite sides in this argument, so I stand by my statements."
Brawn accused Red Bull's Adrian Newey of 'bringing the sport into disrepute' by arguing that because the diffusers made the cars faster, an argument on the grounds of safety is valid.
"The safety implication relating to a technical feature of the car is a bit below the belt," the Briton said.
Ferrari's Tozzi also argued that the diffusers fly in the face of Max Mosley's attempts to reduce costs by 'limiting the opportunities for technical innovation'.
Brawn countered: "Formula one is all about innovative design. It's a cornerstone and objective of the sport."
Brawn lawyer Paul Harris surmised of the appellants' arguments: "What we have seen is a sideshow, irrelevancies, or to coin an English phrase, a red herring."
FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting, meanwhile, was accused by Ferrari of 'getting it wrong' when he cleared the controversial cars to race, and 'not understanding the point'.
During a lengthy and detailed exchange debating the definition of a 'hole', one of the FIA judges, Malta's Guido de Marco, reportedly fell asleep more than once.

The diffusers makes a huge difference though, hopefully its deamed legal, I'm sure other teams haven't sat around doing nothing and have their "sus" diffusers ready for installation, especially for this weeks round of F1.
yeah... it does make a difference...but in Brawns case its the whole package that makes it quick... not just one element... but thats not saying it wont be a disadvantage losing the double deck diffuser ... they'll lose a few tenths AT LEAST...
rumor has it that a 'radical' update is scheduled for the spanish gp... n it'll 'shock' most people... apparently its a radical sidepod design... cant wait to see that one...
and regarding the other teams ... the press has already said Renault is ready to implement their own DD diffuser as soon as the next gp (which is this sunday)... and the other teams (maccas .. Ferrari ... bmw) will have theirs by the Spanish gp..
Radical update in brawns case might be more virgin stickers and a new colour scheme to suit virgins support. Should make the race alot tighter, love kers.
I've been forced fed the love of F1 lol. Never thought it be so interesting. My ears crave the (real life) sound.
DIFFUSERS LEGAL!!! woot...
finally they (Ferrari n co) can stfu about this diffusers...

The FIA International Court of Appeal met yesterday in Paris to hear an appeal lodged by Ferrari, Red Bull and Renault. The three teams were appealing against decisions taken by the Panel of the Stewards on Thursday 26th March 2009 in Melbourne.
Prior to the race the three teams submitted protests to the Panel of Stewards arguing that the cars of Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams did not comply with the Technical Regulations.
The dispute related in particular to the diffuser design used by the latter three teams. The Panel of the Stewards rejected the protests submitted. The protesting teams then appealed the Stewards’ decisions and were joined yesterday in Paris by McLaren, Brawn GP, BMW Sauber and Toyota who give their accounts to the Court.
The International Court of Appeal announced today that the diffusers designs run by Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams are legal and therefore the results from the opening two rounds of the championship are now confirmed.

"The FIA International Court of Appeal has decided to deny the appeals submitted against decisions numbered 16 to 24 taken by the Panel of the Stewards on 26 March at the 2009 Grand Prix of Australia and counting towards the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship," a statement released this morning read.
"Based on the arguments heard and evidence before it, the Court has concluded that the Stewards were correct to find that the cars in question comply with the applicable regulations."
"Full reasons for this decision will be provided in due course."

I can't wait for this weekend now, got ONE HD now lol finally.
no doubt, ONE HD ftw! And I thought last years coverage on 10HD was good. No more staying up until 2-3am to watch races and going to work dead as! Although if I didn't stay up then I'd watch the races on the "internets" but it isn't anywhere near as exciting when it isn't live...
Shanghai this weekend......... will/can the band wagons be a threat to Brawn, Williams and Toyota???
just checked tv guide... dun think they'll be showing quali on ONE..
anyone know where u can watch it online??
the diffuser legal or not, there are pros and cons.
PRO: is that it mixes up the whole field, the fairytale of a "new" team dominating, making ppl think u can join f1 n be competitve straight away....good marketing.
CON: it contradicts the rule changes, the cars are meant to have less downforce, less turbulence for the cars behind and thus making it possible to overtake. but by having the double decker diffuser it creates more downforce on the rear and more turbulence, thus less overtaking and we're back to square 1.
Ross Brawn has already mentioned that the rules are too grey, they need to be more refined to stop things like this happening. He's warned them, they ignored him and now he's taking advantage of it.
He's right, if the rules are not more specific, the cars are just gonna start having sh!t hanging off it to create more downforce. They'll just start to look like last years cars again.
BMW boss Mario said the teams with the DD diffusers are going around croners faster than they were last year. So by making the diffuser legal, it doesn't really make sense.
f1s more about politics these days...
i swear.. max n bernie should be ousted... either that or FOTA start a new series ...
shiiiet... the Brawns lookin menacing in the practice sessions already!! cant wait for quali tomorrow.. it'll be airing at 6pm AEST for ppl with ONE HD!!! have a great weekend guys...
Qualifying on One HD today at 5pm!!! Woooot!
for vic viewers its @ 6pm...
bloody gayFL
I just returned my shit set top box.. ahh!
I'm at the missus' parent's place, and they dont' have a set top box. :(
Brought my laptop and tv tuner USB stick ftw!!!!
bring on qualifying woot!
I'm pumped and qualifying looks like a goe-er just brought a BUSH set-top box works a treat better than anything else ive tried on the market.
Looks like this is going to be the closest race this year.
Qualifying was goooooot! Webber denied 1st again eventhough he did drive well. Can't wait for tomorrow's race!
interesting mix in quali... looks like Renault's last minute double diffuser addition has given Alonso a good advantage now! Did they only fit Alonso's car with D.D.? Cuz Piquet was knocked out Q1... although that's pretty expected! lol
alonso is on fumes... he'll be in on lap 10ish..
n the red bulls r also running lite.. they'll be in arnd lap 13-15
both brawns r considerably heavier... should be pittng around lap 19-20... its looking good for the race....
cant wait...
yes yes!!! strategies will definitely determine the outcome today... redbull chasing their maiden victory! Brawn still in a menacing position... I'm hoping a Brawn 1-2 victory again so Flavio can EAD!
ONE HD @ 4:30pm for Victorians!!!
I knew vettel would be a contender this year
good job to webber as well
redbull 1-2
yeah boii nice race by the RBR team
I would have really liked Webber to finish ahead of Vettel... I hope Webber gets a win this year I think it will be his last chance...
If Vettel keeps beating Mark then I think he won't last past 2010.... Here's to hoping
