Thread revive here:
What's everyone getting on their GE's Auto 1.5's?
Mines up to 9.4 around town. It's just getting worse.
TBH I've never been too happy with the fuel economy of this car. My GD was better and even that wasn't great.
These are little cars with little engines. Other similar makes are heaps less than Honda's.
gd3 got 5.4 last time i checked
same as you BiLL seems to be getting worse, about 9. something round town. still good on the freeway tho, 6.8lt / 100km with 5 people at 110km/hr. under 6 with just me tho. This week, im trying crap fuel to see if it makes a difference.
5.6l/100km
Mrs does 500+kms a week and has a bit of a lead foot haha
My GD used to get in the 5L range per 100KM. Gettin anything below 7 is calls for celebrations these days.
Imma change the coil packs next service and fuel filter. Manual says fuel filter gota replace filter every 80k-100K KM but my mech said not to touch unless something is wrong.
See if this helps.
Does this GD have an intake filter as well as an in line one on the firewall?
I've seen an in line one for the GE
Are you talking about Air Filter or Fuel Filter.
For the air filter, i replaced at the 100K mark, only found one in inside the intake box. That sits on top of the gearbox, in front of battery?
For the fuel filter, 1st timer doing it, only thing I have found is an inline one that sits under the handbrake cover as per the manual. What were they thinking here lol. Make it any more harder Honda?
Oh sorry
Auto correct on my shitty s3
I mean I have seen diagrams of the GE chassis where there is an inline fuel filter against the firewall
Dunno about the GD though
I think the fuel filter under the handbrake is where the fuel tank is located. Was designed for for superior handling
Yeah they put the tank in the middle for handling purposes and to get that awesome boot space that the jazz has been renowned for
http://www.hondapartsdirect.com/auto...fuel-pipe-scat
Part Number 10 is your answer
changed the plugs damn plugs r expensive $90 for a set of platinums.
Coils are bloody expensive also for the Hitachi ones
I filled with a tank of 98 yesterday and see if that helps the economy at all.
I had it serviced last week and it's a little better but still not great.
Okay did fuel filter, 2 tanks fill up be done since, avg a nice 6.4l/100KM.
Will do coil packs after I buy xmas pressies for everyone.
anyone still reading this, i chucked 91 in my jazz vibe s auto for the first time ever, and my average consumption around town dropped 1lt to currently 8.1. also, no noticeable power loss and no pinging or anything. My other cars have had noticeable power loss or pinging with 91/95
My GE6 gets 91 3/4 of the time and still averages 6/100kms mixed
maybe its your driving habit
must be the ge8 POWAAA
Or you coming from stronk s2k to a jazzywuzzy.
haha nah im playing along. i granny drive the jazz most the time. my prelude however, gets 10lt / 100km and that takes a hiding day in and day out. hard to believe jazz uses almost same amount from smaller engine with easier driving.
honda jazz in australia really a crap, i have the first release honda jazz 9 years back, and fuel consumption was about 650km on average driving, but the new jazz i bought here only can go around 400KM
cool story bro
ON TOPIC: I got improved fuel economy with 91 shell, over 98 BP by over 10%.
I then tried 91 BP and got 10% worse than 98.... Its been like 8 years at BP but i need to change petrol stations now. 9.6Lts around town is rediculous
Mine has improved too, geting a nice 5.8L/100KM
both tanks are around 40L
the new jazz says to me that with my led foot driving style ill get 500kms til empty.
Average about 425 to 450 kms on full tank for 2009 GE VTIS
~650-700kms
I don't think anyone has mentioned that running smaller rims and tires is a godsend for the jazz.
I have stock rims and standard Tyers recommended by Bob Jane tmarts for my size car and I get about 700kms per tank 4.7l/100km to 5.5 depending on how much highway driving but thanks to Costco a full tank costs me 30 bucks! From when fuel light comes on. 2006 auto.
Yea im not saying go buy a smallar set.
BTW your rim size in the GD can vary from 13in steelies to 15in alloys depending on year/model.
I have noticed a performance drop in acceleration and slight fuel consumption coming up from the 13in steelies wrapped in P1 to the VTis 15in alloy wrapped in RE003s. Both OEM rims and Tyre size.
Mine is a VTi 01 model. 1.5L
That depends on how i drive it coque sony xperia z5 coque sony z5
2001 GD3 CVT, its gone back up to 6-7Lish per 100KM. Filling up BP98 these days. That 5.8L was with 13inch steelies, 98 and freshly serviced with all new filters + fluids + Coil packs.
Shes getting old and I've given up looking after her meticulously. @ about 160KM ish and being 15 years old now there are signs from bushings etc of wear, chassis getting bit noisy.
But I've put that Jazz thru hell lmao. Still living.
2015 GK5 8.5L/100km on 98RON
100% sydney street driving, stopping at traffic light every ~500 meters:thumbdwn:
2015 manual - Averaged 5.9 today filling up in Blakehurst Sydney to Shellharbour and back.
2004 Manual VTI-S, Rolling on 16inch wheels.. Roughly averaging 6.8-7.2 and almost 500kms to the tank on BP 98 Ultimate

Hi guys, back with a Honda after few years with Toyota :)
I got a 2013 1.3 Jazz GE ("Vibe") auto. Normally it does 7.1 indicated around town and 6.8 in the countries.
This week I fitted a Pivot 3-drive and drove from Melbourne to Wilsons Prom-Inverloch and it returned 5.7 indicated (6.12 real measured during fill-up). During the long drive I saw 5.5 indicated on the dashboard at times.
The throttle controller makes it very easy/intuitive to drive in econo mode. And no, I'm not a hypermiler and drive quite spirited-ly
... and just to give some additional perspective on how frugal the Jazz is out of all my vehicles ;)

Is the pivot 3-drive hard to install?
Where to buy
Very easy. Plug and play, about 30min. First I bought from ebay ($150 shipped) but was fake I think. It works, just can't save the mode and need to select everytime I started the car.
I then contacted Pivot Japan directly and they suggested this official Rakuten shop ($175+shipping). Works perfectly. The wiring harness is "7A" for my GE

And yet another big drive ... Heaps of fun on the fast dirt road with Traction Control
Melbourne - Cann River - Canberra (713km, 10hrs)
Canberra - Adaminaby - Tumbarumba - Albury - Melbourne (1,049km, 11.5hrs)
About 50km of dirt and gravel road, used manual shifter
EC4 setting on Pivot 3-drive Throttle Controller
1,762km / 119.39L / $134.32
= 14.75 km/L
= 6.78L / 100km (dashboard indicated 6.3L/km)
= $7.62 / 100km
Those are absolutely cheap way to get around. By plane the total amount would only give me a one-way taxi trip to the airport!
I wanna drive to Ayers Rock !!
I dont see a need for drive selection in a jazz. It barely makes any power to begin with. It barely drinks enough fuel to end with.
If your doing them long distance. Im sure the new models have cruise control. Set the bitch on 110 and cruise away knowing the ecu will be only using little fuel as possible.
Controlling throttle responsiveness is important in a daily drive which has the ability to empty its 50L tank in less than 180Kms.
I think it does ;) ... The standard jazz throttle algorithm is quite annoying.
I have a 2009 Jazz with the v-tec motor and 5 speed auto 1.3 litre. My daughter drives it and achieves 5.8 to 6.2 litres per 100 all the time and about 610kms on the tank full. It has the optional safety pack that gives you the trip computer.
I have a 2016 Jazz which has the 1.5 sohc (well, there is no other choice).
Based on my last refill:
Distance in km: 472.2
Petrol used in litres: 35.4
Litres per 100km: 7.50
Driving conditions: A to B with moderate to heavy traffic (driving in and out of Norwest Boulevard).
my 03 gli sits on around 5.5L
