510km with aircon on most of the time, vpower, and 2 highway trips. fuel light went on twice but ddnt stay on assuming 5litres left in the tank. ITR adm
I'm starting to experiment as to what I can get the most out of .. so far Woolworths Caltex Unleaded E10: 410KM (Light was on for a bit, didn't want to push my luck). Next will be trying Shell V-Power to see how far I can get, everyone at work loves the stuff. (2003 DC5)
I have a 2005 Type-S and I'm sitting at only 3000k at 130kmh :) I don't know what it is in KMH but I get around 43miles to the gallon. According to the conversion thats about 69khm per gallon?
fuel light started to flicker on 15km's before the pic.
Pretty much half & half. City/Hwy

god damn nice cluster
get fukd m8
DC2R with BP Ult = approx 350km/34 litres around town (stop-start traffic). Drops to 7.6 litres/100km on a trip to Melbourne.
Sadly, the economy is eclipsed by my '85 8valve 2.7 litre straight-six E30 BMW which pulls 7.3 litres/100km. Even when I moved to a non-eco head and Fi the BMW still beats the Honda on a highway trip with only 16 bhp less.
Still, fuel economy on both cars is more than acceptable and means that I can sneer at Prius drivers :D
Honda Integra 2003 DC5 with premium unleaded @ Caltex/Woolies will get me 420KM if the tank is full (same with Shell V-Power) - light comes on around 400-405 KM I think, read somewhere once the light comes on you have ~20KM to go till you run out, not sure how true that is though.
I get just a bit over 350 per tank, and I have a DC2.. :/
I tried resetting my ECU as suggested somewhere and am currently using that tank but it looks like i'm heading the same way. I'm using the 95 stuff at Shell.
Shell petrol, that's your problem
V-Power is Shell petrol .. gets me the same distance as non Shell U95
Vpower in my car uses 1-1.5 Litres per 100 more then BP ultimate
In my experience it wasn't, giv bp ultimate a go
1995 DC2 Vtir 98 vpower
Stock with custom intake and axle back i got
450-470km a full tank
Full 2.5inch exhaust, high flow (100cell), intake
400-410km
38-40 tires psi
yeah, that's a big factor, the tire pressures.
not many ppl realise this, if you're running 15" then keep it 32-34psi ish
but if you got 16's or above, 36 - 38 wouldn't hurt and will help fuel consumption greatly.
Everyone should get @ least above 400km's before the light comes on, even if you vtec a lot of the time.
You know petrol prices MUST be getting high when supposed car enthusiasts talk about petrol economy in their omg race cars...
Well it has been a while since I checked tyre pressure.. Maybe I will try that as well as using BP for a change.
I'm running on 17" wheels so I'll make sure they're 38-40psi.
Not sure what you guys are doing wrong. I get an easy 500-550km out of tank in my car, with mixed driving. '00 DC2R with i/h
btw, I think you're driving your tank pretty low if you claim 550 easy, hwy yeah, sure, but not combined city/hwy
Just realised my tires are filled with nitrogen so they're fine.
But I have an small engine leak to deal with which may e the culprit..
These Are my last 8 tanks
460k & 42 litres = 9.1
431k & 43 litres = 9.7
440k & 44 litres = 9.9
305 & 26 litres = 8.5*
432 & 39 litres = 9.0*
385 & 35 litres = 10.0
400 & 38 litres = 9.5
424 & 42 litres = 9.9
The "*" is for when I did hwy and city driving
The rest is 99% city
Yep so if dc2r-0636 extrapolated those figures to kms after the full 50L which goes into a dc2r fuel tank, he would often be getting 500+km as well.
I never run my tank down very low, get a bit worried about picking up crap at the bottom of the tank. Typical scenario for me would be after 4xxkm of mixed driving, would go to the servo based on the guage (no fuel light) and 35-40L would go in. So a full (50L) tank would have got me 500+, 'easy'
^ technically you would get 500 but really you get 4XXkm before you get stuck in the middle of the road.. =)
Fuel filter
^ i can get 6XXkms and that's with the empty light flashing 12 times, but without pushing it, you'd be getting real figures of 4xxkms.
^ yep. no lie.
^ yea forgot to say it was hwy cycle as well. lol *goneskies*
What I don't get is how petrol light flashed 12 times??? Doesn't it just come on and stay on when your low?
The ****? DC2R with light mods getting "easy" mixed 500-550. Must be no traffic or lights at all. I was barely hitting 280km (350 full tank) before fuel light in a stock DC4 suburban traffic.
Even in my stock EG ill only get around 400 max (350 light) so it wasn't just the teg that was fukd.
but full srs, if you're not getting 450km per tank (fuel light on for 20ish km's)
then there is something wrong.
b18c type R motor in ed9 netted 600+ before refuel.
daily commute western burbs to chatswood. not going m7/m2
going through carlingford, ryde, eastwood etc.
Live life to the full throttle
nah i think just the roads i take in peak hour. Nearly an hour to go 10km is preeeeeee badass
and the crx fuel tank is only 45 ltr.
Probably odometer is out.Wrong rolling diameter
My car pulls to the right quite a bit, would that be one of my reasons for bad fuel economy?
ok, for the special ppl.
the sensor isn't in a full on or full off position. it will flicker between on or off while it shuffles between the high and low level of when the light should turn on or off.
drive more and the fuel level will get lower, making the light, light up more stable.
up and down hill roads will make this very evident.
special ppl.
Turn right to make the fuel gauge go down
Turn left to make fuel gauge show more
True story
Thats stupid! Here I was thinking that some Honda have special fuel lights that would blink every few mins depending on how long your been low on fuel, well obviously the amount of times a petrol light comes on and off is no indication of milage because using the below technique I can make the petrol light come on and off as many times as I want!
Champ you need to calm down. you asked for an explanation and you got one.
everyone else be nice stop inciting or ill just infract
i get 350-400 dc2r. Need to be tuned better as runs really rich atm
490km with a 10L topup.
180km was country driving, the rest was 25km (ie. smooth sailing, no traffic jams or aircon running) metro runs.
this is for a KA9 legend.
my bad.... i thought it was about mileage in general. that'll teach me to read the thread before posting :p
^ bad sensei..lol
i used to get an average 450-500 on my DC2R...for some odd reason its dropped to 380-400kms now ?? =/ any ideas what could have caused this ??
^vtec got the beter of you
ok I actually checked my car and I squuezes 405 from it. That's a new record! I think resetting the ECU gained me about 50 extra km...
Now just filled 40L of BP Ultimate and we'll see how we go...
just under 500kms with full tank of bp 98 ultimate
Get about 500km before the fuel light comes on, from Western Sydney Suburbs to the City daily. Lots of stop start driving.
Car: dc2r - I/H/E with Shell V-power 98RON
EK
irrelevant.
Oh sorry, wasn't aware its specific to integra.
Mods delete if you want.
550KMS on BP Ultimate.
DC5R with just "mostly" casual driving
Around the 200km mark so far and the tank is just under half way with BP ultimate.. So far no difference than the 95 I use... but then again I may have been revving quite high every now and then.. Something about seeing a full tank makes me go wild! haha
Light comes on at 400km mark. DC2R, I/H/E. BP Ultimate. Few redline shifts. 39psi tyres, 80,000km.
Personal best was with my civic (B18c2 ,I/H/E). 480Km, not hitting VTEC once.
All city driving.
Not sure how people manage 550+km....
