Great time. No eg out this time?
Was a pretty good day for us too. Dave (turtleek1) got a new pb (but almost left his alternator on the track doing it ;) ). I got mine down to 66.02 and Chris_F got out there in his euro for the first time (and kicked ass). I'll let them put their times up if they want.
Heard there was a strong Honda presents out this time
Wish I could of been there to play but I had a wedding to attend to and am looking at retirement to buy some property.
The EG will probably be on sale once I get settled into a place, but I will still be out there regularly to support Team Cheeby and the rest of the H-runners
I will still maintain this thread and I may also pick up the camera again to take some shots for all
http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/...pic=259533&hl=
Had to transfer my nomination again, still waiting for my car to return from the buildup shop. Its been there since mid June.
Yeah mate... big thumbs up to you and Chris!! Good to see you out there Chris giving it a go!
Got a new PB of 65.8sec. Pretty happy about that! Missed out on the third session when my lower alternator bolt was missing!!!
But was a good day out!! Looking forward to the next one!!!
i Did my best times ever of 00.00 :(
a wheel stud snapped while putting the semis on, so i didnt even get a 1 run :(
Ive get a few photos i will put in the past events section later this week.
Thanks for all the support and encouragement guys I was pretty happy with a 67.2 first effort. Actually I was pretty happy with the whole experience as you could probably tell. Hopefully I'm out again on november 29. I still got a lot to learn with braking points and getting the right line through the second S bend is pretty tricky.
65.8 dave, awesome stuff! I didn't realise you got into the 65's. Thats an impressive time on street tires (goodyear eagle f1's). You'd be in the low 60's for sure with a set of semis
I wonder if a CB accord has ever gone faster around the sprint track, anyone know? A 66.02 on street tires (bridgestone Re001) is a good effort either way man.
Good work dave. I should be out to watch the final round in my money pit, dont think it will be ready to race then.
They are a dirty bunch of VVti_L drivers
:p
OH SNAP !
Literally :zip:
Hope you get it fixed and ready by the next session
The only other Accord that I know of running around on the circuit recently was Baboo's Euro, dunno if he still has it ?
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=dWj4mtmdmBM
I'll park it like it's hot next to you so we can go Fast and furious in the carpark
i spotted you on your morning comute this morning
There's two euro's other than mine that have done the sprints that I know of. Mattell (Mat) with a best time of 64 seconds (semis) and Baboo (Steve) with a best time of 62.9 seconds (semis).
Steve, now owns a blue R34 GTR that laps in the 57 second range on the sprint track. The last time he was out on the track with his euro would have been at least 2 years ago now.
Does anyone know the best time a CB Accord has ever done around the sprint track? My guess is Cam (Eclipsor) would be right up there with a 66.02.
Thought I had already posted up my times for QR Sprint Track, but must have gotten side tracked.
Current PB of 65.X in the Gen 1
Unfortunately haven't been able to get times back down since the body swap...
Best time in Lamborgrini over the past couple of months is 67.X
Hopefully have her sorted to finish the year with a new PB... fingers crossed.
^^ Nice leg cockin' :)
Thanks... :)
Last round for the year, I was happy with 69 seconds in the wet, shame the only dryish laps were the first set while I was still taking it easy on new suspension set up. Feels good though... :)
Would post that pic of Lamborgrini playing in puddles if I knew how to... :(
Hopefully see more Hondas out there next year... and that includes you... :P
Here you go my dear....
Lamborgrini in action.

quick question jamie, is the hi power crx still street registered?? coz in the first post you did mention "street registered vehicles" :P
Thank you... :)
I know I'm not Jamie, but Hi Power CRX was still street registered when it was out at QR this year. I see it, well hear it then see it, on the streets around work some days too.
Correct.
When the time was set the car was street registered.
Going to be interesting this year as I think a few cars and drivers will have the goods to shuffle the top ten around quiet a fair bit ...
I'm not guaranteeing my time to stay there for much longer either but as I am in need to sell the car; retired and new missus I won't be able to improve on it :)
rocked a 72.8330 on Clubman in the wet. :thumbdwn:
EG on T1-Rs. Street Tyres FTL.
Just glade I wasn't the slowest on the day

B18c2 :(
That's alright mate ...
It's enough to get you out there and have a good fang :D
Looks like my race mate went to rock the black top on the weekend and came back with a smokin' 61.7 second sprint pass at QR :D
Congrats 'Karl' that's really smoking the course with only a B16 !!! :D
what car was it?
I was just reading karl ran a 61, very impressive. Also a S2k ran 58.? NA.... WHOA
The white DA looked great out there. Great time for a b16a
And yea bobby, the s2000 has a built 2.5ltr n/a motor.
I guess the question now is ...
Do I keep this FWD and 4 cyclinder powered Honda's ...
Or do I add in all Honda's ?
What do you guys think ?
You start doing that... then the question of roll cages and stripped interiors etc etc will come into play..... your call.
These are not really why I've asked the previous question as 4 cars have stripped interiors and three cars on the list have roll cages; that I know of.
These modifications are street legal when engineered; mine are certified by an engineer as I still drive my car daily on the street.
The question is really about the possibility of adding the times of the cars such as the S2000's and the NSX; CRV's as well driven by Stephen and his crazy gang :p where a lot of S2000's are capable of going close to 60 and one has gone sub 60, an NSX twin turbo recently has gone 58 seconds as well.
But I think I will make a special group for them as the potential of the S2000 is to go much faster as it's RWD and the NSX of course is just in a totally different class to it's FWD cousins.
Thats some awesome times there. Well done guys. Looks like the hondas are really gonna be up there this year.
NA one list forced induction another. Im all for chasing that s2000 time down. anyone want to help me get km's up so i can get the f'ing thing tuned!
It's quick

From the pictures I've seen of the NSX it looked like it didn't have hard enough front suspension and squatted aggressively under brakes.
Michael Newman Honda NSX Road 8 0.58.34
Yeah thats good times. So good to see a non boosted s2k making good times. I will have to get shane to runs his S2k or eg and see what he can run. I think his EG will surprise.
Sure if you want to be wearing hearing aids and have arms as big as andre the giant. Then bring on the lower back pain and body vibrations. Then there is the added comfort of engine bay heat. 110khm = 4200rpm.
haha, wasnt she a unit. I think the harder she worked him the less chance he had of getting from 6 o clock to 12 o clock. That poor bloke would have got punished by her. HAHAHA times infinity.
true that...made my night seeing that..hahaha!
guess what..im considering tracking mine when i eventually get around to changing it all back,if it doesnt sell before then, have to finish the EK before i start changing mine-under orders from Boss Lady
haha, considering. You will. When you need a hand on that white thing or the alexgold give me a yell. I want to see it on the track. I reckon if we put both our cars together we could have towed that girl home. Would have been a rolled over custard truck when i was done.
PS tell the boss to do it herself. Heaps more satisfaction.
would need wide load banners and flashing lights for that sh#t!
I had Camille working last sat..she lasted 45min,taking the window tint off the glass panels, she got 1 window done. Looking good tho! championship white:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Queensland raceway has a tendancy to change dates without really notifying anyone so check back on their website.
We try to keep a tab on things over on the Boostcruising thread for Sprints.
Start at around 1pm and finish around 4 - 4.30pm
3 session with a 4th generally given if there are no major down times on the track, which consists of 7 laps each; one warn up, 5 timed flying laps, 1 cool down.
the track itself is no wear near as fun as Wakefield or Oran Park is thou.
Weather says cloudy and chance of rain and storm for sat.
will it still be on today even after the rains yesterday?
hope to see some ozhonda guys out
I went out today, would have been a good day to race due to not alot of cars out. Had a big deal due to a GTR dropping oil. Racers were saying there was alot of mud on the track in one section. Fingers crossed for lakeside (1st)
there was like 10 crx's out there. 3 were racing, a green one with a JDM B16A, White and multicoloured one with mugen body kit and either a ZC or D i think, also a grey one.
Mattys White and Camelian b18c7 powered crx was there. 5 crx racing.
1 - Brendans geen siR (b16a)
2 - Matts mr hondas fully gutted ed9 race car, (b18c7)
3 - Jakes wide body siR (b16a)
4 - Nikki's camelian siR (b16a)
5 - Neils grey ef7 (d16a)
rest of the crx's just came for a look.
Well there you go, didnt see under the hood of the white CRX, it just didnt sound like a B series.
My SiR has not put down any real times yet. Retired her after just two laps due to a few mechanical issues that need to be sorted out. Will hopefully have her all sorted for the next one to beat my Gen 1s 65 seconds.
Great to see all teh Hondas out there, with numbers growing and more people keen to track their cars.
Anyone want to come watch lakeside on sunday if the weather is lovely.
Ill be there
forecast is fine, so that shouldn't be a problem
sounds good. new track surface i believe, should see some good times, Hopefully this will be my last one on the sideline.
Yup new surface, new pits, and new tunnel under the bridge among other things.
Heres a release from John about all the works that have been done http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/...ade_180109.pdf
Any more people want to come along? Lakeside is a great circuit.
Yessss, QR is so below par compared to this.
I will be there to watch on the first to show my new girl what she will be in for as soon as she's ready.
Look forward to seeing you all there.
After watching some youtube footage of people doing the old Lakeside track I think I should of kept the Civic for a little longer :(
looks real good. can somebody give me an idea on how to get there?
track is here clicky
Google directions thingo should be able to get you there.
