oh, that makes a bit more sense haha. hmm would u reckon after the resonator settles in with the system and everything ill get better responsivenesS?

i removed my resonator and my car lagged. struggled to go so i put it back on. The rumble was much much louder. Was doing my head in
@black8thgen
yeah its all about the air to fuel mixture. it can be caused by changing intakes which allows more air to be sucked in and exhausts with larger diameter outlets. honda made their engines with specific intakes and outlets because they were the correct sizes if you get what i mean.
running rich is when fuel ratio is greater then air, its ok to run rich, just means you need a tune, if the inside of your exhausst pipe is black or going black due to the backfiring or popping, then your running rich.
running lean is when the fuel ratio is lower then air, start worrying. LOL i dunno the car symptoms of this haha
oh LOL. ahhh.. thanks for clearing it up lol.. shit i just wanna know if with this new resonator will the lag always be there or will it settle in later on?
i havn't taken my stock one out and replaced with just like a small pipe, ive put on a custom supercat stainless steel one.. like with proper resonating material and stuff inside.
i think if u run rich, the fuel isn't completely burned, so it goes out the exhaust and creates flames....
dont' quote me on it though, that's just what i've gathered.
put it this way, when you decided to put your exhaust on did you go for power gains or sound? ask yourself this and did you get what you set out to achieve..
if you went for power gains, you should have gone for a proven, branded catback system.
if you went for sound or cosmetic looks, then you might have welded a cannon of some sort and size onto the rear.
with whatever you do with your car there will always be a consequence. in your case i think the lag will always be there, correct me if im wrong. there is always going to be some sort of lag with any exhaust system.. remember its just an outlet. if you have the matching setup in regards to intake then you might be seeing some improvements!
well, in putting the resonator in i set out to add some more sound. with the xforce muffler i actually just used it as a reason to clear the mugen lip kit cos the stock muffler was burning off the paint on the kit.. and i actually found some improvement in responsiveness, but now with increased sound i guess i have to sacrifice responsiveness, its not so bad that it becomes unbearable though so i guess im lucky with that hey
cheers for help mate.
im not trying to be a wiz kid on the topic, just using my logic which makes sense to me..
=]. btw waternmo: tested out that HKS panel filter yet?!?!?!
+1, couldnt hav explained it better myself
ive just got on an x-force muffler and its running fine... noise level isnt too loud or too quiet lik oem and so its right for my liking and once ur inside the car, its quiet as (unless u rev it from mid-high range)
but if u wanted more sound, u should have gotten a cannon muffler.. tat case u wouldnt need to replace the resonator and still have ur responsiveness and loud sound
HID isntalled today! (did i post SprintBooster installed too?) .k. we can probably meet up this weekend if u r free? haha, and no i havnt tried the HKS filter yet, its still on its way, will arrive end of this week i think... coz its light to post hehe... but i've only done 1000km with my OEM one... too clean to change i reckon...
Haha my car backfires at times when i push the car hard kekeke ^.^
