my civic gets about 450-500 a tank with a H22a
Man I've gone heavy footed. I usually get 350-400 nowadays as opposed to my previous 500+ ><
It is worth noting that the link is to a US site, a US gallon is less than the imperial gallon that we use for conversions.
I have been playing around with my driving style for the last few weeks trying to determin how low i can get the fuel econnomy. pls note these figures are totally accurate if people wish to concentrate on ecconomy driving.....no hard acceleration, cruising at 95kph.....etc. Week 1....452km, 28.8 lts = 6.37L/100,
week 2....505km, 32.55 lts = 6.5L/100km, week 3.....469km, 28.87lts = 6.37L/100km. No long trips during that 3 week period......ie - 4 trips per day of 23km
as everyoen has been sayin, u prolly have some sort of problem id yo engine / fuel management system or wateva ..
usually on a full tank .. most ppl get 480+ ... widout vtec'n all d time... and some gettin dat much .. vtec'n all d time ...
get it checked
Safeway/Caltex 91 ron lol That's what I use and I drive a 91 eg breeze with a d16y1. I got 520kms outta the tank last week since I had to run up to Geelong to pick up a parcel shelf, and Sunshine for a slim radiator fan haha.
I never really saw a difference on economy between 91-95-98 ron fuels. Car performed properly like always as well. Bumper becomes equally black as well regardless of fuel type.
Had good experiences, but will be moving to 98 ron when the H22A get's dropped.
I did do the conversion from US gallons not imperial...
Interesting while my roof gets resprayed I was loaned a Jazz Vti for the week.. It (unlike our civics) tells you its l/100km for the trip (why did they exclude that on the civic?). So I reset the trip computer before I left work for home last night..
So driving home down hoddle street (about the worst street in Melbourne which is turning into the worst city for peak hour in Australia IMO) the little Jazz achieved an amazing 10.9l/100km for the trip home last night LMAO you stand still on hoddle/punt more than you move.. averaging 9.5l/100km in my civic doesn't seem that bad, when most of the fuel is used in to/from work trips..
I am off work in a couple of weeks, I will see what my fuel consumption is like when I am not sitting still in peak hour to and from work each day. If it isn't drastically better I will bring it up with my service center..
I just got 500kms in my Gen2 CRX. ~35lt Tank - Pacific Highway FTW.
Hey guys, i got an EK, with a full tank costing me on average $35-$38 (around 40L) i get around 350Km is that bad???
i dont see no oil leaks or fuel leaks and i have a K&N air filter with no other mods
I get about 380-400km I think. Its kinda of bad eh? Is it due to me vtecing it more often and often using 4th gear at 100km/hr? haha thanks ppl.. i go 5th only when i am pass 110km/hr mark. haha.. so my poor consumption is due to the way i drive?
well drive.com.au lists my car having 45L
but thats assuming im filling it up from complete empty (which im not)
so lets say 40L, yeah gets me about 350k so thats crap ay?
what could be the prob? its auto...and i use premium and normal at time, and i have a new fuel filter
There is also a HUGE variation depending on the conditions in which you drive...
Its not just city and highway.. some people consider driving through the burbs of a major city - city driving. Others are driving into or through the cbd in peak hour which are vastly different situations..
