Tyre Recommendation thread

Hey guys

Im looking at getting 225/40ZR18's for my Euro and have some questions.

Firstly, anyone recomed anything they they have liked in this size? Im thinking G3's or F1's

I do alot of driving (55,000kms in 2 years) so im after something that will wear good, my current Faulkens Fk451's lasted 13,000kms and was hoping to get something better.

Im not a street racer so performance isnt my main criteria but i do like to throw the car around a corner sometimes and am big on wet weather performace because my faulkens really suck at that. Also, i dont know if its because of the tyres or not but my traction control is forever kicking in around a corner.

Also, im looking at only replacing the fronts because my 2 rear tyres still have plenty of grip. Problem is, ive got abit of camber where obviously the inside has worn more than the outside, if i put these rears on the front would that be dangerous? Or would it cancel itself out and start wearing evenly again?>

or for the same price as g3 u can get the goodyear eagle gs-d3 which i got last week in 225-40-18, they r incredible in the wet and pretty awesome in the dry and they r meant to last me around 40000 and just to give u an idea i had gt radials before which lasted only 55000 and they were hard compound, but i guess ill see how it goes.
but i highly recomend either the gs-d3 or the yokohama advan sport v103 (i think they r)

Im running TOYO T1R front and rear. 215/45/16. Costed me $750 for all 4 fitted, balanced and 4 wheel alignment. Excellent grip on dry and good grip in the wet. The tyre has a very soft compound so dont expect the tyre to last very long. Bang for buck tyre !

can anyone recommend good tyres for 235/35r19? rough prices would be cool too..thanks well I have narrowed the brands down to Yoko, Dunlop, Falken and may be Bridgestone. But from experiences I have used yoko es100. they were really good. great grip. Im looking for a set of tyres that give me grip but say not for best grip for track and stuff. thanks

Yokohama C.Drives 205/50 R16
$210. They were the only C.Drives that would fit with the closest OD. A little wide for the rims, so sidewall flex really shows through. As far as wet grip goes, they are pretty good. And dry grip is good. Don't have axel tramp any more (old tyres were Bridgestone Turanzas). Done track work with these and are a little quicker than Turanzas.

Dry was alright, wet was terrible. Had good sidewalls, but would axletramp and were easily damaged by pushing the car.

For the next set of tyres when the C.Drives wear out, I was looking at either AD07, F1 GSD3 or top end Dunlop/Yokos. If the AD07 isn't DOT approved in Australia I wont get them, but which of these are better?

goodyear revspecs, getting them on my car this week.
test drove em, when it was on an integra, handled great, quiet, but apparantly wears out quick! lol.

Any more feedback on the Toyo T1R's? I have a quote for $174 fitted and ballanced 205/45 R16.

I have a DC2R. Its only a weekend driver so I want some sticky dry weather tyres without going to semi-slicks.

I was getting some Advan AD07 of Maxhonda-power, but his suppliers sent him the wrong order.

I was also looking at Yoko ES100's, but I am told they don't make them anymore?

So yes, more feedback on the Toyo T1R's please. Or any other dry weather sticky tyre you think is good for me:thumbsup:

I have them on my civic, handles great and the tyre wear is good aswell.

i was initially gonna get toyo t1-r heard they r a great tyre but didnt have them in my size so i paid a bit more for goodyear eagle gs-d3 which r pretty awesome.

And does anyone else have goodyear gs-d3's made in Australia cause mine r made in Aus and i thought 18s and higher r all made in germany.

has anyone tried falken fk452? how are they? they r the cheapest I can go for 19"or else im considering yokohama advan v103 but thats 485 per tyre for my size so if falken fk452 is good i wanna get them...thanks

atm i have Pirelli Dragon (info) which i think are very nice and grippy, both in wet and dry... im running 195/50/15 and it costed me 115 per tyre.
