You are right, people have been ripped off many times i guess and sometimes you just have to learn to deal with it which is what we are having to do now.
You are missing what the whole issue here was though.
The reason im complaining is because the dealer wont let us out of the deal. I would gladly leave the $400 deposit behind for my g/f's mistake but they made her sign a waiver which locks her into buying the car and cancels the cooling off period. She cannot get out of it and she didnt realise what she had signed. Partly her fault yes, but it should be clearer and easier to get out of the deal than that. The only way out is by the discretion of the dealership and they are a bunch of heartless conmen IMO who would no doubt be rubbing there hands together at the sale they have made here.
I want to name and shame them, but im not sure im allowed to do this under the forum rules.
My big advice is to advise all your g/f's or friends to always do research when looking into a new car. I recommend not letting someone you know go buy a car by themselves. Talk to all your relatives and friends before signing anything.
AND DO NOT SIGN A COOLING OFF WAIVER. All this does is say "I agree to buy this car and cannot pull out". If you dont sign this you have 3 days to pull out of the deal. I would have been happy with that. If my g/f didnt sign that waiver we would be picking up another vti for 24.5 with some options on saturday, not to be though.
That waiver is just an absolute scam IMO. Why would anyone wanna sign such a thing.
Just trying to let people know not to make this same mistake.
