I suppose you will use all the pedals, console etc from the old car?
yeh da6, got climate control and stuff
and old skool b16 in it
the guy had no idea it was a da6 lol
Did a chime sound come on when you out put it in reverse lol happens in my da6 as it's an auto.
Will be good to see how you go at converting it to manual as that's what I want to eventually do to mine.

Steveo will you chop the roof to put ur old sunroof in? lol
oh cool, i hadn't noticed that it didn't have a sunroof...
hmmm status check on my DA9 , leaks int he front passenger footwell, shocks and springs need changing , engine needs a good service , rims need painting, sound system needs installing, power window on passenger down button doesnt work , but can hear the up button working....., headlights are dim as &*%$&, boot plastics need replacing , clutch grab feels soft, brakes need changing. Bit of work to be done if we're honest....
Any sydney DA9'ers wanna help me? =]
Missions lol
You'll get there, I did =)
when get my car back and I have time, I might pop around
haha sounds alot like the work i did today.
shcoks and srpings all round brakes all round, new control arm bushes, new trailing arm bushes, new steering rack, and took the engine out of my old car..
think my master cylinder died when we were bleeding it :S
seriously the springs sound like an old corrugated roof on a shed when the wind blows too hard .
and handlings hopepless , just going around a roundabout the tyres squeal . =_=
Hey does supercheap still sell those DIN brackets? anyone have any experience with em? need to install sound system . the radio is driving me nuts .
ive heard the same shit every day
i will catch a grenade for ya , whos that chick, its in the water, arrgheee@#$&((@@#%*(
cud be ur bushes man, springs dont usually make noise
theres the front upper camber arm bushes make alot of noise for me
gnaw great
I have no experience at all with bushes. Is there a writeup about DA9's and where/how to get em?
How much would I be looking at too?
Sorry im a complete noob when it comes to Honda's
hammer and alot of frustration lol
proper way is with a press
pedders can do em
guys ive had this small rattling sound lately like as if theres a rock inside a tin can boucning around. After alot of research and asking a few ppl here and there i think ive come to the conclusion that it is the clutch throw out bearing? whatever that is..
When i press the clutch the noise is still there but MUCH MUCH quieter (the noise only comes in cold) and has been getting louder over the past few weeks, when warm .. (very rarely makes noise).
So yeh..
1. what is a clutch throw out bearing
2. is it pricey to fix? (roughly how much)
3. what happens if i dont fix it
im actually interested in this too as my car makes the same noise but regardless of cold or not...
officially, transfered the rego into my name, even tho the problem i had with no compliance plate yay!! :)
let the mods officially begin
we'll get it fixed together :) if some1 replies lol
cost f the actual bearing is like $50. but since you have to drop the gearbox to change it then may as well get your other bearings done (~$100) and a new clutch (whatever you want to pay! price varies widely) and about 3-4hrs in a workshop. good workshop price is $60 p/h so all up lets use about $400 as a guide.
what if u have a brand new clutch? my clutch is only 2 months old? do i have to change the hole thing again :S ?
U reckon the bearing would be covered under warranty? because i got it done professionally.. and i have warranty if the bearing is a part of the CLUTCH itself it should be free 4me :)
thrust bearing shud be part of the cltuch kit, so warranty
spigot bearing prob wont be
should i get a exedy sports organic or a heavy duty clutch? and rough price outline how it would be to buy not including install
think the bearing will be completely seperate to the clutch , even tho both requires removing the box out they wont do it cause no issues with the actual clutch.
my clutch is really soft and the friction point is like ...how do i explain it..... (---------------) this long! lol when i drove my friends civic it was only (----) this long.
Is there any way of adjusting it? or should i just throw in an exedy.
slimx lemme know if u find any good workshops , more than happy to get it done together , maybe can get discount =D
u can adjust it, the black knob thing on the gearbox where the clutch cable connects, tighten that see wat ahppens
i like how you put 'see what happens' lol
*squeakie squeakie tighten tighten* .... * BOOM!!!* =p
is it hard to access? never even seen where the cable is located =/
anyone got a wrecked da????? need theses parts rear bar ,carpet and brake master cylinder =)
lol u cant tighten it that much
underneath the intake pipe there be a black arm, thats the clutch arm, connected will be a pretty thick cable, thats the clutch cable, along that is a black knob.
Guess who just scored all of this for $300?
http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/924...1149medium.jpg
who?
where did you manage to pick that up from? pretty awesome score, looks like all 8 pieces and all in good nick too.
I paid $500 for my full kit about 3.5 years ago but it has a couple of fixable cracks in the front bar. Some day I'll actually get around to fitting it.
Still jealous, another kit would look good on the 6..
well my car is for sale...............
and i do have a FULL KIT :)
100% Original :) which im selling with the car lol
Picked it up from the wreckers. When I went in to get the blower motor, I asked about a new front bar and they told me they had an optional front lip that was later revealed to be the whole kit! The boss said they'd bought about 150 DA9s, and only 2 had theoptional kit.
There's really only 1 crack that's on the rear lip but it's underneath, although some mounting hardware and a few clips are missing from here and there.
I don't suppose anyone wants to trade their Torino Red kit for this, otherwise I'll just paint it!
Given that I have no room for another car and it is just a head**** to buy from interstate, I thought I would be kind and disclose what is up on carsales at the moment-
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...5105&silo=1011
pretty cheap even if just for the engine! if anyone does decide to buy it I would be interested in parts....
Its not about what I need, its about what I want :)
slim side bump strips, climate control etc, rear control arm, under hood lining, and more!
Having said that i have better things to spend money on at the moment, so hence not buying this car
Edit: just realised that the Auto B16 listed only revs to 7700rpm according to the tacho in the pic, My 6 goes out to 8000rpm, I didnt know that there was a difference with the autos?
the tacho it self goes to 9, and it redlined at 7200,
just put my manual in and new ecu
i redline at 8 now xD
Just for info there are two DA9's at the Northern Rd wreckers between Windsor and Penrith. One is pretty much complete metallic grey, the other is fairly stripped out white, got the steering rack out of it today.
stevo what happened or is going to happen to the engine in your old da9?
my b18a?
thats gettin built up even more, thats the engine i want in there eventually.
forged pistons, carbon moly rings, race bearings, ported, bigger valves, cams, titanium retainers, dual springs
few other things
hopin to make power to 10k
An interesting point I found out for the DA9 front suspension that may help you guys out.
Since the front upper suspension wishbone rubber mount bushes flog out from age and start squeaking/creaking, I took them out to get some new ones fitted.
Went to a suspension joint and they said none were listed for a DA9, so I asked them to get in some DC2 bushes and measure them up.
They fit! so it is now part DC2 type R. Got the urethane kit with offset pins so camber can be adjusted too. So of you need em, just get in the DC2 ones.
swapped out the JDM filler neck with an AUDM one from the red car today. no more fuel leaking from the filler neck cos you cant get a cap to fit it!
JDM on the left, AUDM on the right.

if only someone had done this years ago, then I wouldnt have a big patch of faded and rough paint on my rear quarter panel
oem jdm cap ftw!!!!
i like cuz its got the anti tightenin stuff lol
