Hook me up, destrukshn!!! LOL!
I need to get new tyres this week in 205/40 17's.
Current tyres: G3's
Looking at:
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
Toyo T1-R
Anyone heard of the Toyo Proxes 4? http://www.toyo.com.au/Proxes%204%20page.htm
Are they any good? Any feedback appreciated!
can you post up some details on the Dunlop RE6060? I have never heard of this tyre and can't find any info on it on the web.
If you got it in that size, they look to be around the same price as the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx.
I got the Sport Maxx for $1100, thats for 2 in 225-45-17 and 2 in 245-40-17. Fitted and balanced.
SiR, the Sport Maxx.. They have excellent wet grip and will last longer than the T1-R.
Kit: I've never heard of the RE6060's and couldn't find anything on it either. Could it just be another name for the SP Sport Maxx?
And thanks for the feedback - I've heard some good things about the Sport Maxx. They're a bit pricier than what I would like to pay, but $20 per tyre cheaper than the price I got quoted for the T1-R's.
The Proxes 4, on the other hand, is the cheapest out of the G3, T1-R and Sport Maxx at $188 a pop. Wouldn't mind some feedback on this tyre - the people on 1010tires seem to like it though: http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews...e_reviews.html
:)
I've got the sport max on order. Won't be in for a 1 - 2 weeks in that size.Quote:

I've done a fair few km's on my set already (probably just under 10,000km) and I can see the front tyres have only just worn out the Dunlop writing on the tread... very durable.. The TWR is 220 or 240 from memory.
And as i said before, I can't seem to lose traction on these tyres in the wet, even at WOT in 1st gear, which says alot about these tyres.
If you are on a tight budget, then maybe go the Goodyear GSD3, they are a very good well priced tyre.
Spunkymoney: 1-2 weeks? They're available for me to pick-up on Thursday.
Kit: You're really tempting me mate!! lol! Got quoted at $245 a pop.
Unfortunately, the Goodyear GSD3's don't come in 205/40/17 - only 215 in that size!
well I suppose I've already been waiting a week or so...which place told you that?Quote:
