Hi guys. Didn't notice this thread as I started up another one in regards to fuel consumption...
I'm currently on about 360km with petrol gauge just above empty. Petrol light isn't on yet. From what I've been reading here it seems I should be expecting better economy than what I'm on. Granted I have been engaging vtec a few times. A bit excited since I just got the car... Most of the driving I do is stop start.
Should I be concerned?
Its not how far u go. It depends on how much petrol u need to fill up the tank when u go to the petrol station. Because all our low fuel indicators seem to come on at different times.Quote:

RPS.13's fuel indicator comes on at with around 3.4L left which is very low..... my indicator comes on with around 12L left which is quite high.
Guess we all just got to learn when our low fuel indicator comes on.
I think everything should be fine unless ur getting worst consumption than 11L/100km when driving like a grandma.

Amazed with my fuel consumption/economy once again!!! Got to work this morning 602.9km!!! on the odometer and the fuel light only just came on when I parked the car on a slight angle. No difference in my driving style either. I did a spark plug, oil & oil filter change mid tank at approx 250km. I'm surprised that the new plugs have increased the economy by an extra 75km!

the ones I pulled out, which came on the car from Japan were the NGK: IFR7G-11K
the one I purchased and put in were the NGK: ZFR6FIX-11
same thread size, same gapping of 1.1mm, both iridiums, only difference I can see is the heat range, with the 6 being the hotter and 7 the colder plug.
it's suggested that if you have a high performance engine to normally go a colder plug i.e. heat range 7.
the ZFR6FIX-11, was more commonly available and seems to be cheaper of the 2, the shop I get them from did not even stock the IFR7G-11K...
NGK have also updated their website as well since the last time I checked, which was before I bought the ep3, they only had the listing for the DC5. now they have a listing for the EP3 which is the ZFR6FIX-11 plug. they now have a drop down for honda import: HONDA IMPORT Model Civic EP3 K20A
not too sure why it is listed as a 1.8lt though...

Yep fit them up myself... and read through the same DIY guide a while ago... before I purchased the ep3. Yeah its a pretty standard/straight forward plug change really.
Only thing to look out for would be the nut/bolt connecting coil pack ignitors 2 & 4, you'll need a 10mm deep socket to get them off or a ring spanner should work too.
I use permatex anti-seize lubricant on my plugs as well, not really required but it makes it easier to get in and out when changing the plugs... I use it on pretty much all my bolts (anything that I undo on a regular basis).
I'm getting a lousy 300~320kms a tank and driving like a oldman :(
Only running GruppeM and Buddyclub headers aswell! looks like spark plug change on the way?
