Why do you recommend Penrite HPR 5? isn't it too thin.
According to the Penrite website, they recommend HPR 15.
I have received recommendations for HPR 5, 10 and 15. Will it make a big difference if chose one compared to the other?

Just use OEM honda oil, you wont go wrong with it. Get 5w or 10w-30 as advised.
I wouldnt trust the Penrite website.
Penrite's website is giving you erroneous information in my opinion. The Civic takes 10w-30 from factory. Go to Castrol, Shell and other oil websites and they will all tell you to use 10w-30 or thereabouts. Not 15w-60.
Yes, there will be big differences. Firstly, fuel consumption will be worse with HPR 10 and HPR 15 because the viscosity is too thick for the engine design. Engines with tight tolerances need thinner oils (unless it is a race engine, which experience harsh conditions).
Secondly, any parts of the engine which have very tight tolerances (bearing journals) can have more wear if there is too much resistance to flow.
Ok. Thanks for your help guys.
Im not sure if Penrite has the 10W-30. Im only seeing 10W-50 in stores. Is there a difference between 10W-30 and 10W-50?
Im leaning towards the Penrite 5W-40 though.
Any suggestions?
Use the Penrite 5w-40.
