see the quality of welds etc ? this bloke is clearly a DIY backyarder...but regardless id hate to be driving it down the 1/4 when something snaps.

The factory unibody is held together with spot welds. If you've ever tried to break apart the smallest of tack welds with your hands you'd know that even poor welds are incredibly strong. It wouldn't take much length of poor penetration weld to beat the area of factory spot welds. you would want some strong strut bracing in the front there and a good water pump to get the water all the way to the back of the car with the radiator in the front like that
