quick question: i've got the small bottom cover off to gain access to the 2 side screws. but i can't undo them coz they're too tight. do you think spraying it with wd40 would help? every time i try unscrewing it by hand i slip and wreck the thread even more
is it possible to get extension thingos for power drills?
cheers
You sir, are a legend! took out both screws with ease. 2nd one fell partway down the inner-dash but managed to fish it out lol. I installed the GROM i2 unit, took roughly 1hr, would've been alot faster if i knew what i was doing.
sound quality is great, no hums or background noise. no drilling required, just went through the existing holes in the lower glovebox area. good service from CushieAudio, bit exy but worth it for the oem-ness lol. :)
this one looks good

bump for a good thread. and give me rep for not posting a new thread like a noob
lol..i was gonna do this..but then i got too lazy, bought a double din facia and dvd player and got xtreme car audio to do the install. :P
lol i got the fascia i was just gonna unplug my radio and replace it with an empty fascia so my gf would stop screwing around with the radio in the car. ill just say it broke :P.
great thread i just ordered the ebay thingo
where have people routed the cable to? do you need to drill a hold to get it through the glove box?
i put mine (Cushie Audio unit) in the glovebox via one of the 3 little premade holes on the top of the lower section lol. sounds confusing but i didn't drill any hole. if you need pics let me know :D
i tried to take the bottom center piece off, most frustrating moment of my life.
i had to take the glove box apart and finally got it off.
then undoing the 2 screws deep inside and one of them fell out, i cant the screw. I just cant reach it.
yeah - ive partially broken the fan selector with all the constant in/out of the dash lol.
for those that are interested - ive been through the EBAY unit described before but it didnt work for some reason - didnt bother sent it back and got a refund. Now i rock a modified (IE cleaned up) version of the DIY AUX input cord on the first couple of pages. It has a female plug set into the interior plastic , right below the fan control. So , you can plug in a male/male AUX jack and use it or unplug it for a clean look. Works great.
