Gonna install the rear lights tomorrow hopefully. Had a quick look in the back of mine because the indicator bulbs looked a little smaller than usual. Turns out they're voltage limited little 15w jobs...

I'm thinking the previous owner must have put in the limiters so that the indicators didn't flash too fast, but the aftermarket light sockets for the indicators weren't large enough to let in the standard 12v globes. Anyway, the problem I'm seeing is that when I do the switch the 15w globes might not be bright enough in the stock lights...If that's the case I'll just wire out the limiters, but seriously, why even bother getting aftermarket lights if they wouldn't fit a standard globe? Seems a little stupid. Any thoughts?

I'm not saying that there's not an obvious difference, and I do prefer the facelift front, but I don't personally think there's enough of a difference to justify a swap. Although it is a pretty straightforward swap, I guess.

Just out of interest, how much do the facelift fronts tend to go for in good nick?

If you know were to go, which is a wrecker thats like wrecking a 98 GSi , it can be picked up for as little as $150 for the front bar, $150 for the headlights and blinkers, so say $300 which is all thats needed to complete the conversion
If you go to a wrecker that wrecking a Type R , be prepared to pay some Type R tax lol

Then pay another 150-200 for paint...ain't worth it IMO
Better off getting a really nice set of wheels, give the car a better look.

Just crack your front bumper in half then cable tie it for some jdm-ness

Mmm I'm not too fussed either. I can see the difference, and sure it does look a bit nicer, but I'm not sure it's an integral (see what I did thar) thing...yet. Eventually maybe, but I think you're right, focusing on the wheels and lowering it now should probably be the priority. Also keeping an eye out for exhausts, not sure how much a good one should set me back. I've seen a few on here but not too sure of them.

When you get your coils or whatever suspension,
Get the type r eyelet LCA's
Then you can bolt up a DC2R Rear sway bar

Second hand exhaust would set you back around $400-700 depending what brand you want

Why do you regret it so much? I'm still a huge noob when it comes to cars, slowly learning as I go about different bits and pieces so I figure there's no harm in asking and getting a good answer haha. What does getting the eyelet LCA's do exactly? (I suck with acronyms) I know the sway bar will help stability, so I'll be sure to keep it in mind :)

this is the dc2r rear lower control arm.

Pictured is the rear dc2r cusco coilover. The bottom of the shock will go inside the LCA.

Ahhh, I see now, I'll be sure to get them then! Will finally be installing the rear lights and the shark fin antenna this week if this rain holds off :D
