I had this problem, my drivers side was even getting stuck sometimes...
A friend of mine put silicone spray in the rubber tracks or whatever they called, now problem fixed! simple and easy!
for best results do what someone suggested afew post befor, take the panel off and spray the down/up tracks with the spray..
TIP: also just spray the verticle rubbers/tracks, if you spray the horizontal rubbers accroos the bottom of the window, wheny ou wind the window up you will get the silicone spray all over the glass...
oh my gosh my window just slipped off the runner again
anyone else had this problem?
i had fixed the slow window problem but now it keep slipping off the runner
one thing after another with this window
Silicon Spray
Guys dont use Silicon Spray - I tried it (expensive stuff) and the windows were great for couple of weeks, then they got really really bad, much worse than how it was originally. The problem is that gunk and dirt get into the silicon and get stuck in it.
It took me months to get rid of the silicon crap using detergent.
WD40
WD40 is too thin and wont last long. It can also affect the window tinting.
Carbon/Graphite Powder
This is the best stuff to use. Dust does not get caught in it.
It works instantly and lasts for weeks - depending on how worn down the window rails and rubber are. If the windows start to go slow again, just put some more in. I keep a bottle in my glove compartment. If it rains heavily, it can wash away the carbon though. But at least it wont seize up like silicon grease. I think this is what the factory does to new cars anyway.
i think its your piston rings
holy old post batman!
actually a nice old post, cause i was wondering about this :)
yeah me too..
my window is fairly slow, but the problem is when winding it up.. it goes straight right upto near the top then sort of goes out of place, and there is like a 1cm gap at the top of the window... i pulled the door trim off and messed with it.. but it had me buggered.. so ive left it.. its been like this since the window tinters tinted my windows. bastards!
When i had the trim off, i could wind it up and pull on the window to keep it going straight so it doesnt go off route. I tryed this a couple of times hoping it would pull it back into position with no success (and yes i know this cant be good for the motor!) lol.
Can anyone help with this?
I have troubles with the rubber seal at the top of mine. leaves a 1cm gap. I just have to push the rubber back in place every couple of days. Very annoying!
with the way mines moving at the top.. its buggered up the seal..
heres a pic of my problem. The window winds most of the way up fine, then jumps out of place near the top. This is the result:
