98 vs 95 octane for my R

Yea it does, not sure how many k's you still have left to travel tho but I've never ran the car till it clonks out. The only reason why my light started blinking cuz I was being tight and didnt want to refill the tank since petrol prices was too high :] And yea I was told it was bad to drive until the lights starts blinking, but not like I do it that often.

I guess the distance I get out of my car per tank (even if if I havent measured it the most efficient way) sounds about right then.

So is that 45L tank applicable for all DC2s? If so I'll try to get a proper measurement of how many petrol my car uses.

Sorry I didn't make it clear, I wouldn't literally run it that low, just for illustrative purposes. I imagine all the crap floating at the bottom of your tank would go through the pump, but pump should handle it I think, just ensure fuel filter is in good condition.:thumbsup:

Well most have you are getting pretty darn shit feul economy of only ~400kms per tank...., thats more then 10L per 100kms! should be getting around 8- max 9L per 100kms.

Agree, or even less is quite possible.

my car is due for a service very soon... do you think that this will at all help with the fuel consumption issues?
...its only due for a minor service, but i was thinking to get a semi-major one done anyways.. just to be safe

Yeah it may help, clean airfilter will improve, make sure timing is right, fuel filter etc....

I'm guessing you guys will be lacking performance too. If your cars are running rich (and I don't see how else your economy would be that bad) then you're not gonna be getting the most out of your B18C.

Another full tank of BP Ultimate last night. ;) got 426kms from 33ltrs. 7.7ltrs/100kms anyone? And like I said, I don't baby it ('cept when it's cold). I did do a little country driving though up to my mothers place and back (about 160kms round trip, but not all of it was country).

Yeah that mileage sounds very similar to mine, I only use BP Ultimate.

Hey I measure my economy yesterday. With Vortex 98 I'm got 90km out of 9.42L of petrol so thats not too far off I guess but might just service it anyways to see if it can be improved.

after working at a Caltex service station for over a year now...many people coment on the advantages of vortex over BP Ultimate and the other premium 98 octane fuels. I do believe that vortex gives better milage and looks after the engine well.

hey ppl tell me BP ultimate is the best! But its so bloody expensive. BP has three levels 91, 95 and 98.

I've noticed shell optimax is usually a bit cheaper and is still 98 octane, they only have the 2 levels 91 and 98. Does anyone know if there's a difference between the two?

Anyone have any opinions on the best brand of 98 octane? or are they pretty much the same

Shells now have 3 levels: 91, 95, 98.

I reckon they all almost the same as to performance and mileage.
Just personal perference. I perfer Shells Optimax.
