made in thailand
so does it mean that the jazz's asembled in thailand comes with this filter from factory?
That green oil filter costs full rec retail 220baht or A$7. Approx exchange rate 30 baht to the Aus Dollar. No taxes, duties, etc because of Free Trade Agreement. The dealer has to charge 10% GST though.
I'm sure the good honest Honda dealer charged you accordingly for it. Remembering the cost to them is at least half retail price.
Just checked, that price is for the genuine Honda part. The HAMP part is only 130baht full retail or A$4. Almost half the price.
HAMP aren't genuine Honda parts and I quote
"Apart from offering high quality genuine auto parts at value-for-money price, Honda also stocks good quality, low cost HAMP parts that are nearly as durable as the genuine ones. All HAMP parts come with a 6-month or 10,000- kilometer (whichever comes first) warranty."
In other words parts are only warranted until the next service.
To sell a HAMP part as a genuine Honda part would be misleading and deceptive conduct.
the manager of the servicing and parts department at eastern honda told me HAMP is a genuine honda product
Not according to Honda Asia or Honda Japan. Must be the 1st case of a Honda dealer ever telling a bald face lie.Quote:

HOP are Honda Original Parts.
HAMP are Honda Approved Manufacturers Parts (synergy) - basicly parts are guaranteed by Honda to fit Hondas but are of lower quality / grade and consequently price. Honda definitely does not claim to manufacture these parts.
If you paid for HOP then they need to supply HOP. Otherwise you might as well use Ryco or something else that fits the vehicle.
Good point.. I will sure specify only HOP in my car in the next service... :D
that shifty guy told me it's a original product...he said it's a honda after market product...bloody lier..looks like i'm gonna write a letter to honda australia to make a complaint about him
