ALSO - *our* hondas have disengaging injectors at speed yes ? That is , sitting above say 70 or 80 km/h , and the accel. is let off the car runs on momentum alone ( as the injectors are turned off) ??/
in other words my car is too fast lol....Quote:

m i doin the right thing on savin fuel?
Not exactly...Quote:

If you want to fail emmisions testing you could tune partial throttle to around 12.8:1 which in theory produces the largest peak cylinder pressure.
i shift around 2k..
works the treat :D
also.. fuel millige is great!!
even tho some people go.. 2k?? and it revs up to 8?? ur joking?
i think i got lower end torqe..
Getting to 6th as fast as possible isn't really doing any good, but accelerating at a slower rate is, it is really where the money is.Quote:

3 - 4k for me
but will red line if traffic condition allows and when car is warmed up
(be true to your self, this is why we are driving sports car ain't we?)
no point saving $5 of fuel if I have to drive like old grandmas on the road.
and for the fuel issue at different RPM
Assuming you are going in the same speed and throttle possition
travelling at 80km at 3rd gear 4000RPM uses MORE fuel
compared to 80km at 5/6 gear 2200RPM due to gear ratio
therefore, if acceleration is not required, always run on higest gearing
p.s. i am doing around 420 - 460km with 3/4 tank
Yeah accel slowly is the way to go..... if i accel to quick, time dialation oocurs and ppl outside my frame of refrence (my car) begin to age quickly
So if ur going down a hill, at zero throttle, there no fuel going in the engine???

Well, i used to shift at around 3k and i rarely used 5th gear. For that pattern my jazz gave me 7.5l/100km.
Now, because of soaring petrol prices, i now shift at around 2k and use 5th gear, my trip computer now reads 6.4l/100km.
The difference is clear in terms of fuel consumption but it's also obvious that the driving feel is sacrificed in exchange.
3k for me
how fast do you guys usual travel on freeways??
