JAZZ as a good base for modifications

thanks guys for all the responses... Probably getting another car early next year because im going to give my car away to my lil sister. Looking around atm and have fallen in love with the Jazz lol.

i used to think the same thing.. however the jazz grew on me too..

i'm quite happy with it..

S15 is 1 of the CHEAPEST sport car available, still cost twice of the jazz vti-s when it's new though
u are right, the s15 is a bad A-B so i bought a R34 4dr for this application

A hot hatch in my definition are raw, light weight, nimble, quickish, relatively inexpensive and must be a hatch shape. A value of a car is an subjective choice but the rest, Jazz does not cut it in the performance stakes. They were designed to comute from A-B in relative comfort and good economy, not as a hot hatch.

its all depend on you mate!some ppl like ek series,bcoz its very easy to be moded. b18c type R engine transplant ,etc.and ek is very fast for track and at the corner.its a good car.i was thinking to get one if i found a good condition ek.
JAZZ is new generation car. however, jazz is a very practical car for family. you cant expect too much about JAzz i mean for drag and track.
OVERALL, different ppl have different views. do what u like!

well, still plenty of car cost less than 20k including an EK4 right? and nowaday you can pick up a s15 in good condition for $25k which is a driveaway price for a VtiS.

s15 is not a bad car for A-B as it is pretty new and comfort compare to other silvias

for me, when you modified your hatch and people said your car is Hot, that's a Hot Hatch for me.

Again, i do not think it is a good base for a quick car BUT if u have the cash, it can be DONE. I would rather get a DC2R for that.

one question.... which car is a hot hatch to you?(a general question)

Serious note, yeah things like the golf mk1 Gti, clio sp, ek9, ep3, 205gti, starlet GT, mazda Familiar, pulsar GTiR, even the good ol' swift gti....mate the list goes on, and thats the true definition of a hot hatch, something that moves relatively well, stops, handles good, and importantly gives great feedback to the driver, without burning your wallet on super cars. But ppl have different opinions and that is fine, its their opinion.

ofcause if you had unlimited source of capital, then you could make your Jazz take off into space, but maybe the S2k for example may cost less to shoot into space, rather then modifying a Jazz which might take more time and money for the same result. But again, this is IMO, still I think Jazz was designed not to be driven like sports cars, but hey when time moves on, people finds their own uses for things.
