theres no cover for the filter for the injen CAI

its covered by your front bumper and the fender guard. if you look at your front bumper and see those two little black grill thingys on each side, thats where the filter sits, right behind that.

heads up, if your gona do a diy on the injen, dont cut the fender guard as big as it says in the instruction coz its way too big. thats what I did!!! =(

hehe everyone wants the silver intake manifold cover but you want a black one?

if you want a black intake manifold cover you might as well buy a carbon fiber intake manifold cover.

yeh i guess all will come onces funds settle in! sold the EG so waiting for the cash on that! hahaa

Does all Dc5R and dc5 Base have the same CAI and fit on vice versa?

so if i buy a INJEN dc5 Base CAI, it will fit on a typeR and no performance loss etc?

there are differences between the TypeS/TypeR and the base/auto DC5.
- the hole for the sensor located further away in the TypeR/S
- the pipe size is the same, although the throttle body is larger on the TypeR/S but the rubber tube can be fitted either way.

the part numbers for the base and R/S are different
base Injen CAI is SP1470 (SP1470P for polished or SP1470BLK for black)
TypeS/TypeR Injen CAI is SP1477 (P for polished and BLK for black)

If you have an auto i suggest you buy the SP1470 (no difference between either manual or auto DC5)
This will save you from having to extend the wires for the sensor.

Also another thing to take note...

As long as your 06 TypeS doesn't have fog lights then it shouldn't be a problem.

the end of the pipe on the 05-06 Injen CAI is a tiny bit shorter because of the redesign front bumper and fog lights.

basically the 02-04 DC5 TypeR can use either CAI designs with or without fogs.

The 05-06 DC5 TypeS can use either CAI designs without fogs, but if you have fogs then you should get the slightly shorter 05-06 design to prevent crushing your filter.

But others have installed 02-04 Injen CAI on their 06 DC5 and they haven't experienced any problems...

**this only applies to non-base model DC5**
