I've sampled these at the shop against Focals and I preferred the MB Quartz for their mid-bass (the Discus in particular) although the Focals V1 & V2's win for their clarity and instrument separation. I went for the Reference coz the clarity is comparable to the Focals but still retain the midbass of the Discus line. I listen to mostly rock, metal and electronica were these splits really shine.
