dc5 strange noise when its wet

i have this prob but when i accelerate my exhaust sounds very deep and the car looses power i was thinkin the o2 sensor on the cat

yeah the exhaust sounds deepish and backfires
my o2 sensors were fine wen tested and they would normally throw a check light

but when the car is stationary and i rev the car the note of the car become so deep that i always get out of the car to check the engine but found nothing. when i get the cat service next week ill ask my mechanic to do a few tests

I had the same problem, it's when water splashes on the exhaust from the pattern of your treads. After I changed the tyres it never happened again.

Question for you guys,

are your cars lowered a fair bit?

And what exhaust systems are you guys running?

hrmmms i was abt 2 say...any chances the power wiring is getting soaked by those "puddles" or "heavy rain" because if so then the electric current will tend to follow the water n that will take the power from ur car...if ur engine is recieving the right amount of power it could lead a vibration or jerking??? :D

hrmmms one of my suggestion is lift the car up, spray it wif heaps of water n chuck it on the dyno n see if there's any vibration or different reading in the car power

No, doesn't work that way. The only wire under your car is the O2 sensor wire. You'll be surprised how poor a conductor water is when you are looking at a scale of 12V.

happened wen my car wasnt lowered and base height which is about 1 inch higher than dc5r

exhaust happened stock and happened with my fuji

done this on a jack sprayed water from a hose for about 30 mins and the car didnt miss a beat once

we get more rain in summer in australia than we do in winter...
