but no roar vtec?
i say test drive both and see what u like better
+1 to above comment
me (+ everyone i know) see the prelude as more of a girls car than any other honda, we also dont really see them as a sports car either, they are a cruizer... +respect for anyone with a type-s but otherwise they are nice for bling not bang
i have seen more girls and idiot pop style P platers driving them around thinking they are top stuff
how many nice clean tegs u see around? further more ho many bogans u see driving the? i see next to non lol
We dun buy the Type R family hondas for luxury and so much comfort. Be it the hardcore Type R or the VTI-R, they are all out to show how small N/A engine kicks ass.
If u get a prelude, you got torque. but u got shit loads of weigh to pull along with u. In the end, you are no better than an Ek4 civic with no torque but lighter.
I think the best VTI-R to get is the Integra. Nice modern shape. 125kw for AUDM. Weighing about 30-40kg more than the Ek4. Oso great handling and B18C has sufficient torque n top end to go up against stock WRXs.
If i was u, i just get a GLI EK and convert a B18CR into it. Ur $15k can get u an EK for $5-$6k. Den $6k++ for engine conversion.$1k install and remaining for bolts on mods I/h/e. You are set. And this time u talking about 1st gen stock STIs. haha..
But reply to thread is Integra VTI-R for the win.
Depending on what you want the car for if we are purely just compareing a H22a VTIR lude VS B18C2 VTIR DC2
Strait line factory vs factory lude will pull no questions asked. No replacement for Displacement.
Circuit work... If we were compareing a DC2 ITR with a VTIR Prelude, i would say ITR no questions asked. however we are compareing with a DC2 VTIR.. smaller brakes, no 5 studs, heavier, no lsd etc (please correct if wrong or add anything else). I think the dc2 VTIR would out perform a gen 4 Vtir Prelude in handelling. but not the Gen 5 VTIR prelude ( bigger brakes, 5 stud, generally better setup)... and Especially not a Gen 5 type S... more power again, ATTS.. (Automatic Torque Transfer system... LSD)
In regards to people you see driving them... This is compeltely about how the cars compare.. not about the stereo type they have. But i can assure i have seen all sorts of Riced up hondas with their ganster wigger / or girl drivers... Civics Integras included.
Weight of a car doesnt matter as long as you have the parts/power to back it up.. you dont see people saying... oh a v8 supercar is shit because its too heavy? course not because its got the balls to back it up.. a h22a has got shitload more torque then a runofthemill b18c2 Vtir. and can pretty much rev just as high.
We ran 14.7 @ 98MPH (time slip to proove if needed)... Not compelte stock but close, VAFC + pod
Dont see many STOCK Vtirs running sub 15s

Handling of a stock DC2 doesn't feel or look great but it really is very very good, it's lighter with less rubber, Prelude is heavier and extra torque is needed to keep up, and has slightly more rubber. V8 supercars weigh about the same as a Prelude.
There's bugger all in it really, the driver will determine the difference.
which is quicker to 100 the lude or the teg?
i found the handeling of the lude to be better... but the power in the teg to be better - lol i like both and considered both wen buying my car, it all comes down to what u like... teg won for me than... but now that im a lot more chilled out id prob buy a lude
only the newest one tho
type-s are damn nice
bro I say go for the teg, as there are more parts to fix then the lude bro. more options in engines, and more options in parts where as the lude is one it self sad for its kind. No option engines even if used other engines it will take to much time and use to much parts, teggy has all parts and bolts onto any b-series parts.
ive mannaged to find a teg im interested in..
i said in the 1st reply of this that my mate jus bought a moded integra which was sumthin that i was lookin 4. hapens to be that he's wanting to sell it in about a month, purely becoz its a frnt wheel drive and hes lookin at an s14 etc for drifting.
so thought id still see wat u guys think..
the main thing that put me off is it has done a fair amount of ks (150000). he drives it hard but not excessivly hard (red lining etc).
but the full description of it is that its a blue 96 vti-r with mugen pistons (dunno when in the 150000ks of its life the re-build was done), mugen injectors, 5zigen exhaust, koni springs and a set of light wieght white wheels (4 get the make).
all for $11000
give us ya thoughts cheers
Personally I avoid buying any modded cars because I've been around long enough to see some nasty examples. Even though it costs more to do it myself at least I know it's done properly and won't need doing again which in the long run costs less too. ;)
