i thought so, the 1.8 l ivtec, i vtec operate at low rpm purposely to improve the fuel economy, not designed for performance

fn2r is different, vtec operating for performance, not really for fuel economy
but to to me, its still economical because its better than having turbo car, the fuel consumption for fn2r (9.1L/100km) are better than wrx, evo or similar performance car,
wrx roughly 12L/100km up, i was saving roughly $20-30 a week now

2008 Civic vti FD1, 32 litres for 400km, 8L/100km, which seems a bit high for freeway driving, although most of it was in the wet.

It is quite normal to use slightly more fuel when driving on wet roads due to an increase in rolling resistance, especially in very wet conditions

Yes, that, and the fact that it was my very first fillup. BTW it was with Vortex 98 premium. The numbers should come down from here.

I fail to see the point of paying extra for premium unleaded when it is not required, i have never used it, nor will i ever use it in my FD1 auto, yet i average 6.79 L/100km.... that figure is an average taken over 45,000km using standard 91 RON.

on a full tank of petrol . I usually avg about 450-480KM's.

I have tried using unleaded, premium and octane and never got 500KM's + out of my full tank of petrol (40L).

My FD1 is used as a daily and is often down the M5. Stop and start traffic during peak hour.

Whats your thoughts?

to start with you have a 50 liter tank in your FD1 so at worst you are getting 10L/100km if your driving till your tank is bone dry.

what CAI are you using?

CTR 1,600ks

avg 8.2L/100km on around 485-495Ks, with about another 145Ks left on tank

mostly highway driving, medium-fast flow traffic running on V-Power

i'll pay more attention to it next time coz I had the reset on fuel option on.

another week....same result.....600km and still no low fuel warning light, but then again there would be something wrong if it was
