Fair few more results on YJ. There's a reasonable amount of eyelet parts, just not big in the US so im guessing exposure is limited to those who understand japanese. (i cannot speak/read any of it btw, google translate ftmfw)
my shocks clamps over my lca so mines a fork type
Thinking of running 13x7 +0 opinions thx
I think 13's are too small, even on an ED.
Agree with above, 15" tyres are in the sweet spot regarding performance vs. cost
x2, 13s too small, tyres $$$
Ive been considering going to 16, or even 17 for something different.
I'm in it for the looks, not the performance.
For 15s to have good fitment with very little tyre to guard gap, the car needs to be slammed.
this is barely legal height, 195/50r15

4x114.3 conversion and then run 14". Or be retarded like me and run a 14x5 with massive muffin top tyres (coz 4x100 sucks in 14).
13's could get you that low look lol
Im think of sell a car, maybe a crx but civic would be better to sell
ohh gawd please dont fit 16s or 17's to a 4th gen !!!
Think my only option is 16".... 15" won't clear the brakes
: (
what parts are needed to make a ed9 front bumper fit onto a ed6 hatch? thanks
Not the correct place to be asking, and try searching. It's been covered

Hay
getting dry ice for sound deadening and hopefully take out engine tomorrow. big things.
Nice. Where you getting the dry ice from?
Um there is a place near the airport apparently, they said they sell it so yeah. Do you know of anywhere reputable?
Didn't end up getting any, traffic to the airport was horrendous so i bailed haha. Ill talk to the guys I work with and see where they got theirs from, will let you know man. Also, friend came down from FNQ so no work on car today, oh well.
took more of the dash out, along with a lot of sweating

You can get dry ice from woolloongabba. I got it for I think $20-30 a kilo
where in Woolloongabba? name of shop?
I forgot but is across the road from south side Honda ironically
I got a few steps further along on my ED project. Full story later, but today, I got the engine in my donor car running on the original wiring loom (a challenge, seeing how it was chopped and tucked and had an aftermarket alarm spliced in), and dropped it out of that car. Photos didn't happen much, but when I can get some more pics happening, I'll start a build thread.
Correction I think it was $20 for 4kg. I ended up using around 3-4kg. All you gotta do is put it in a bag so you can reuse the ice.
I wouldn't advise removing deadening. It's horrible to drive in. The firewall deadening weighs a lot but the floor deadening doesn't weigh that much
How much did all the deadener you removed weigh?
This is the deadener out of my CR-X:

Not including the dash mat that I've also removed, it felt quite heavy as Kenninho says, perhaps a similar amount to the floor deadening.
5kg is 5kg, every kg counts when n/a
wow 5KG's !! might have to get my act together and remove the sound deadening finally.. I need a few more KG's back to make up for the cage.
how do you take off the headlights, frontbar, aprin off a ed6, tried today took bolts out but still didnt come off...
Just dropped the fuel tank to replace the pump.
Swapped my old Main relay out for a new one and washed, then polished my civ this morning and found something i hadnt seen since i bought it in October. Apparently i have 1 different wheel! Could be the ammo i need to allow me to get new rims :D
^ wattt u go an EG hatch now Mick !!?! ?
Yeah bro, had it since October. I was looking for another Gen 2 CRX, but at the time there werent any decent ones available/in my price range so i settled on an EG :D
Turns out i cant read today either. Somehow i thought this was the EG thread. Sorry guys!
Maybe it's just me, but I find Adelaide ED's are all in good condition compared to QLD. I'm down here for a business trip and I see heaps of clean ED's lol
Bring one back with you...
Such a long drive. But sounds like a good idea haha
Got a few questions, if I am using the donor car loom, and it has electric climate control, and mine has manual climate control, will it work? Does the ecu control the climate control?
what model car and year is the loom from? Also, when you say electric climate control do you mean the heater box direction flaps are electric? or you mean its a digital climate control?
anyone know if a Bride fixed back seat with eg/dc2 rail would fit a ed6 or what would i need to make them fit thanks
gave the zc a service before it (hopefully) goes in tomorrow. Need to figure out whats the go with the looms + ecu + efi hoses.
i can just use the crx engine loom, right? do i have to worry about the cabin loom?
given you are using both your ED heater control, and ED heater box there is no issue. You have nothing to connect up anyway...
just connect the fan button and AC switch if you are keeping it.... everything else on the heater control is manually adjusted. Make sense?
Hey guys, Don't post anything about my, tried a build thread on jdmst but lost interest quick.
Anyway been building this for the past 9 months or so.
Today I picked up an EF9 tank, sits better than my DA9 tank.
Did this: OBD2A EFI loom for 4 door sedan

And Grifty came over and help me turn the car around.

Haha Cheers Grifty!
A few updates to share, but no pictures.
So in the last week, the engine and loom has come out of my ed, and the engine has come out of my donor car. I recently purchased a set of hasport mounts, ef9 fuel tank etc. Turns out the mounts were for hydro, not cable, and I'm still waiting on the fuel tank. Hmm. Anyway, slowly getting there, conversion should be complete by the end of march
Idk where else to post this.
Link removed, I think I wanna buy it.
Came across this, pity it's an auto. Looks like it's a jap model though? Vicroads check shows up with a VIN that looks like a Pre-SEVS import vin.
^ WOW it's got the 'ZC hump', bronze glass and a parking pole !! is worth the price just for those bits !
what what i need if i wanna do a b16a conversion to my dual carb ed6? thanks
Engine, gearbox, loom, da9 driveshafts, ecu, hasport ef B series shift linkages/ef9 shift linkages, EF B series hasport mounts ( if you have cable gear box you will need cable mounts, hydro box will need hydro mounts). EFI tank, change fuel hoses to efi rated hoses. think that's about it.
jordang i pm'ed you, or would a d16y1 would be a cheaper option? but d16y1 crossover you cant hear i heard someone say...?
^ I disagree. I've seen Y1 swaps sell for 300 bucks VS a a2 set up going for a lot more (anywhere from 600-2500 and then some)
In an ED:
A D16y1 is bolt on with factory EG mounts (no extra mounts to buy)
Wiring isn't too fierce (or use a piggyback set up - ECU for lights etc and ECU for engine)
Existing driveshafts will fit (from EG or ED)
Shifter linkage is a case of using existing hardware or EG hardware.
Fuel injection can be sorted by an external pump (like AH OEM)
Exhaust will likely have to be worked on regardless.
If you're lucky, you'll have almost everything you'd need for the swap just by getting the package.
I was estimating 1k for y1 vs 2k for bseries.
Then again if the sound is more important than performance I should probably shut up.
as long as its vtec, get to claim mad tite hella jdm as fuuuuuuuuu
Go b18b. So ****ing cheap, loads of torque, profit.
B20 its cheap ish.
Then add the vtec later
Im sure a ed9 with stock b20 goes off
I do like my b's tho
im going b series thanks for the info guys
If anyone needs an EF/DA B-series timing belt bracket, hit me up

What panel filter options are there for an ED/EF?
Is your car injected or carby?
