anyone know any shop can do ECU tunning for euro in Perth? Thanks
Ah I see... doing something like that would be more trouble than it's worth IMO. For similar money you could probably pickup a k-pro dual.
Hey guys,
I put money in it, that with an obd-II cable and free tuning software you can do this all with the oem ecu..
I had my b4 running 22psi and a speed cut of 300km all through the oem ecu..
My get a cable for the Honda and start fiddling around, especially with the vtec ANC rev limiter
Don't worry dude, where there is a will there is a way..
Same thing was said about my subaru ecu, it was almost completely adjustable
does anyone know Apexi NEO can use it on EURO? and how do you tunning the car with it? Thanks
Which apexi? Power FC?
Won't be too hard.. I just need to figure out what all the terms honda use in the ECU, and how it all reacts.
The software I have is pretty universal, and on the forum, there are guys that engineer the software to each car as a way of sticking it to the manufacturer..
so if there is nothing there, i'm pretty sure they'll be happy to take a crack at it..
There was only WRX software, and after 2 weeks, they made a base for my B4,
What is the VAFC can do? how about wiring issues? any modification on the cable? Thanks
This is all well and good but I highly doubt you'd get it to work for the stock ECU. Honda can't even modify the ECU (trust me I've asked) as it's all hardwired into the ECU from day 1.
But by all means, if you can get it to work I'd be very impressed and excited :D
my dyno tuning on Greddy Emanage Ultimate...:thumbsup::thumbsup:
so far, no one knows how to remove the rev limiter yet... except going to standalone ecu?
we all talks about the emanage ultimate, has anyone actually tried out the v manage on the euro before? and also what does the f manage do?
One way is to get it reflashed with a higher revlimit, and then use the emanage to tune. Reflashing it is the problem. Who do you trust?
Watch out guys... this is a long post! :p
xxb4xx is talking about reprogramming the stock ECU. Hondata have already figured out how to do that and it's how they reflash the stock ecu. Of course, you have to be willing to take the risk of your ECU getting fried in the process and (potentially) having to wait for a replacement. If there was a reliable way to tune the car using the stock ECU that'd be great. The latest honda ECU's have some pretty advanced features.
The only way you'll be able to completely tune the euro (which includes tuning the VTC, VTEC, RPM limit, fuel/ignition, the Drive by wire throttle etc.) Is to go for an aftermarket standalone ECU that can control drive by wire throttle and has enough auxillary outputs to send all the neccessary data back to the stock ECU to run the air-con and the dash. The Honda k-series ecu's send information (to the dash for example) via canbus so untill someone is able to decode the canbus 'language' that the honda ecu uses, you'll need to keep the stock ECU if you want your dash to work.
That's why Hondata K-pro is a dual ECU setup aswell. The stock ecu is still responsible for running the drive by wire (since a k-pro ECU by itself isn't capable of controlling drive by wire).
Personally I've gone for the Vi-Pec v88. Which is currently the only standalone ECU that can control Drive by wire throttle for under $3000.
I looked into Motec and the cost just isn't feasable to me...
M400 ECU (up to 4 cylinders sequentially) = ~$3100
Drive-by-wire option = ~$500
Variable valve timing = ~$700
Wiring loom = ~$1000
Cost to wire the ECU into the car = $1200
Tuning cost from scratch= ~$1000
Compare this to the Vi-Pec...
V88 ECU (controls up to 8 cylinders sequentially) = ~$2500
Drive-by-wire = included
Variable valve timing = included
Wiring loom = included
Cost to wire the ECU into the car = did it with an aeronautical engineer friend of mine (but had to buy a genuine hard copy of the honda accord euro workshop manual at a cost of $450, also bought some solder, heat shrink etc. and an extension harness from boomslang).
Cost for tuning from scratch= ~$600-800
The bottom line is - you won't get out of this cheaply... But the Vi-Pec v88 is the best option. You wouldn't have to buy a honda service manual either since I've already put together a wiring diagram to wire the V88 into the car and may even consider putting together some plug and play harnesses if other accord euro owners start to show interest.
nice post dude..
Can I just add, flashing your ecu is relatively safe..
First I take a copy of the standard ROM from the ecu as an XML file and save it on the pc, that way I can always revert back to stock at any time..
Also can anyone get me the jdm tune for the euro? I gather like subaru the power is greater as they have better fuel, but it's easy to reflash to that rom as an easy option, and richen the mixture to avoid ping and detonation
jdm tune would be heaps different right? Because in Japan, they have the euroR (CL7) which runs K20A and also they are cable throttle i think. please find out how to reflash our stock ecu please!! haha i just wanna have a high rev limiter, then we can use an emanage ulti with it.
I'll get there soon dude, just need time and to figure out if the ecu has any lockout cables that need to be connected or disconnected to put it in read/write mode.
As for jdm if they only have the k20 and not the k24 it's useless, it won't work..
7 more kw?? That's all? I'm starting to hate this car more and more LOL.
This is getting interesting.xxb4xx i hope you can crack the factory ECU and get something happening.
I've had a chat with the partner in crime when it comes to ecu's, we'll give it a go this week.. Although..
- where is the obdII connector? Drivers side dash?
- and any cables under dash to be connected for ROM access that anyone is aware of?
First thing we already spoke about was rev limiter.. That's relatively easy, but not sure on how v-tak is ecu controlled..
ha ha, let me see if I can get into the thing first!!
Ps it's been mentioned in a thread here that enginuity.org is finished.. It's not it's still around :) just under another name..
For all the ecu noobs, checkout openecu.. This is the magic maker

I heard from Leon, that your the fastest euro that he knows* on wakefield. I haven't ever dyno my car yet, i don't know how much power it produce :o I got an Greddy emanage ultimate in my room at the moment, probably getting it tuned this week or next week.
Before there were a red euro with Spoon coilovers, front strut bar, F&R camber &toe kit with Advan AD07 Tires as well and did low 1:17.xxx as well.
Nice! Your car should make good power, especially with the Toda headers. If not peak power, the mid range should improve significantly.
Will you be going for the upcoming wakefield day on 10th July?
I did see that red Euro, the tyres on that one were very grippy. I find the RE001 just not sticky enough for such a heavy car. I'm going to change my brake pads this time to see if a sport pad will help, but I am not expecting much, since the car was sliding around most of the time.
Edit: Sorry guys for hijacking the thread.
any good news for us euro owners? everyone's waiting haha :p
i find the re001 not good enough as well. also dont ever get dixcel type m pads, if you are to get dixcel, get the type z. my friend had type m on his s15 which was really good at holding up but for some reason not so good on the euro. i think it's the weight of the car? well i don't know so yah look into something else. july 10th, maybe. i know leon's really keen to go but i need to save up and see how i go first, needs to save up for tuning my emanage ultimate as well.
The VTEC solenoid and VTC solenoid are both grounded directly to the engine block. They are both switched by a 12V output from the stock ecu.
That's why when running the Vi-pec ecu you need to wire a small solid state relay into the loom for VTC control. The vi-pec's high frequency auxillary outputs (greater than 300hz) are all ground switching... so the solid state relay is wired in to a 12v power souce so that the ECU is effectively outputting a high frequency 12v pulse to the VTC solenoid (instead of the usual ground).
VTEC is much simpler, since it doesn't need to be constantly adjusted. All you need is a switchable voltage output (like an ignition/injection channel).
Hey boys,
So far so good, we ended up getting into the ecu, but only as read only mode, we can't figure out hiwvto get it into read/write.... Yet :)
We had it where we could clear ecu codes, but not save the map off the ecu or save it back on.. There must be a short out somewhere, either way we lost sunlight and a jim beam or 2 later, gave up for the day.. We managed all this in 45 mins, so all is looking hopeful at this stage :)
did you guy heard about Importscene? anyone bought things from them before? are they good?
http://www.importscene.com.au/index.shtml
$1050 a Ultimate ecu and harness shipped. will you buy it. is it worth to get it? not included install. advise me please
Wait a little longer and see how Chris goes with the Vi-pec?
Its much better and stronger than the E-manage Ultimate.
do you guys have the CL9 stock ecu diagram for connecting a piggy back ecu? Thanks
Getting my Emanage tuned this friday, it will be road tuned not dyno. Any tips i should pass onto the tuner when tuning the euro? I'm getting this done by Ben at Touge Tune btw.
Nothing yet to be honest guys, had a few things on, and haven't really had the time to dig into this.. I didn't realise it was such a wanted thing! :)
It's my bday this weekend, (going away for L/W), hopefully next week i'll meet up with the guy and have another crack at it
Alrighty guys..
back into this again..
I promise to have another stab in it this saturday.. but..
Can any Tech heads out there, confirm if the ECU uses a Motorola ROM?
hmmm no further updates on this thread but rather then starting a whole new thread, thought id post up that APPARENTLY jtune is now finished and ready to go.........
hahaha i know....purely out of the blue, received an email saying that jtune is now ready.....didnt bother to check it out but thought someone on this website might have further news on it.
At this stage in time, the euro looks like a car that i'll be driving for the next 5 years so a bit interested in what options there are to clean up the fuel map a bit to get more economy out of it. Qld lose their fuel subsidy on wed july 1.....not that it seemed at times as we did HAVE it.....
dude i think the email that u got was about the civic type R ! cause i got the same email read the contents ! ahaha, dam i wish we had the same packages as the the civic type R i just hope it works out with that not like the euro lol.
hahaha oh well.
Surprised they are still in business at the rate they produce packages for cars.
Hey CL9-K24A3
where did you get your greddy emanage ultimate installed ? and how much?
cheers
^I'll answer it for him because I don't think he is on the forum anymore.. He's gone to Merc forum already LOL
He got it installed at Chasers around $500
Do you guys have the wiring diagram for Emanage? Where to get the harness?
Thx.
Boomslang harness is the way to go D:
I emailed them. They also need the wiring diagram to custom the harness.
For those who have the Emanage installed, does it have any ECU relearning issues with the Euro? i.e does the ECU eventually adapt to the interceptor, creating the need for a retune?
Thanks!
Helloooooooo
I have had it tuned for quite a long while now.. If you have time you could check I posted in this thread when it was tuned...
Sadaz...Until now the car still feels like how it just got tuned..If not heaps stronger hehe.
I don't think there is any stock ECU relearning at all. This could be proved as just recently I had my car dynoed again (In TB thread Felix posted), the figure was even a bit higher than it first got tuned hehe.
Hope it helps mate.
guys, this maybe a "noob" question (since I've never interested on piggyback ECU management thingy before), will Greddy Emanage work with auto CU2?
Thanks heaps!
who can share E-manage config. I have Toda header, Comptech ice box ;)
Hi, who can share correct Jumper settings. I need correct setiings for Jumper 13 and 14 ;) Something wrong with temp gauge, shows inocrect temperature ;)
$500? Where? Tell me the process you went through, where you got the emanage ultimate, what tuner you went to etc.. GReddy is American is it not? I've read the Haltech interceptor, which has Australian outlets, is approx $1500 for tune and install? Thought GReddy would be the more expensive...
Can anyone else confirm this?
