Thanks that would great
Im Getting my car back with new Dyn 3 way's installed either tonight or tomorrow will post up some pics of the custom work.
new a pillars!?
Pics or it didn't happen!
Show us! Very interested in seeing pictures of the A pillars. Am about to possibly do the same as the focal ones which are in the stock location reflecting off the glass makes it friggin harsh.
i will get some pics... im just snowed under at work lol, i will try tonight
snowed?? :O
lol.. as in he has a heap of work to do... unless he's at work and its actually submerged in snow. but thats highly unlikely in qld :p
Lol it hd me for a second hahaha
ok ok... so i got a picture.. what do u guys think?

nice...didnt need that piece of glass ne wai
That stupid piece of glass is the most useless thing. In order to see anything significant out of it, you need to going to crash your head into the steering wheel.. Not worth the effort... might as well put speakers !
Nice job.
i use it all the time.. the piece of glass is for when you go around large round-a-bouts =]
other then that its pretty useless
oh, i dont even use it for large roundabouts, although there are pretty much no large ones around sydney, well where i go anyway
can u put tweeters in those 2 meshy things near the windshield?
Yes you can, though if your planning to install decent speakers I would advise not to. Bouncing on the glass gives the harsh brightness ...
Some songs its pretty much ear bleeding for me :(
oh poop. Can you put some sort of sound absorbing material over the tweeter?
Well you can get dash mats that are designed to absorb the sound ... Covers abit of your windscreen though but obviously not much.
You could try mounting the tweeter on top of the mesh grill. most tweeters come with an angle mount so you can direct the sound towards you and not the glass. Well this is what I am thinking of doing anyway.
being reflected and angled at you would be the same anyway woudn't it?
maybe less reverberation i guess...
hi~interest how much u pay for dash..
i am a new civic owner...
knew a bit wif honda..
thx~
pay for dash?
ya...the 2 dim dash for civic 8th
oh, call the dealer up lol... Not sure on price though - expect it to cost an arm and a leg for a bit of plastic.
doesn't jdm or them sell it here? $200 or 190? d-din with brackets
i knew somebody makin it...but it not match so well...
a bit shxt...
hey guys i was just wondering if any one has any double din dash kits for the FD?
It was just discussed.... and you can buy them from the Honda dealer
Sorry Curtis .. what i meant was is there anyone here that has one for sale?
I understand you could buy them from Honda but i cant justify handing over my right nut for a bit of plastic.
Its around 200 .... I got mine for about $180 ... and if someone was selling it I reckon they would sell it at 130-150 2nd hand.
Would be around $50 dollars more for a new one with guarantee of fitment and brackets and screws ...
Thanks heaps for that Sky.... it is much appreciated
Can i ask where u bought urs from as i want one aswell?
do u have pics of your install?
I got mine from the user dmx but his not here anymore. You can still contact him through his website im told. If you want i can pm the website.
Do you mean pictures of during my install? I didn't install it myself but there's a DIY thread on it. If you want pictures of the actual thing on there are a few pictures back in the fd audio thread
That would be much appreciated Sky... pm me the website whenever u get the chance..
I found the DIY thread, it looks really detailed which is cool and a big help gettn the dash out.
Your car is very nice... FD with chromes... funnily enough i got one with 18 inch vault devilles..
props on the car buddy, i look forward to seeing you at one of the FD meets
Alright i pm'd you mate. Yeh np and also my wheels aren't chrome. They are stainless steel sorta finish ....
but yeh hope to see you to during FD meets .. good to see yet another melb FD owner :)
screw the fd meets.. heaps of fd's in melb and only 7 rocked up at the last one.. just arrange a private meet.. we'll rock up.. lol:p
Thats sounds like a plan bro...i reckon we should organise something.... its always good to put a face to a name...
Hi Guys this may of been covered and i missed it but how did you run the power cable from the engine bay in to the cabin of the car? Is there a hole in the fire wall i can use?
theres a gromet in the left hand side front pasanger foot well behind carpet.. u can run through the guard.. well thats how i did it... theres surely other ways... if in doubt hole saw lol jk
oh, thats what i did as well, i thought there was suppose to be a hole in the firewall, couldnt find it, raged quit, found that gromet = win
if ur running 1/0 G then thats the only way i think u can get 4 runs through there :P
Thanks guys I will have a look tonight. I will just be running 4 gauge so i guess that wont be a problem. You wouldnt have any photos by any chance just so I can get a better idea how to run the cable and mount the fuse.
car is gettin serviced atm soo umm if u still need tonight i will take 1
I drilled a hole just above the brake paddle. If you search in audio thread, you should be able to get some pictures. You can also check out www.8thcivic.com/forums/. There's a DIY install for a sub which will show u where to drill. All the best!
Hi Guys I just had a chance to have a quick look on the passenger side for the gromet and I cant seem to see it, is it in plain sight or is it up behind the dash a little? Would someone be able to post a picture of where it should be. Sorry to be a pain.
