atm either thinking of - save money and get only springs prolly king superlow
or get coilover sleeve kit and find shocks (dunno what shocks are out there) or just get coilovers, daiyama is cheap but dunno if they good? or ksport or cusco zero gt .. dunno which/what to do

D2's are pretty decent for the price, i think they're worth about 1400ish or so. They're quite soft and can take a beating on the track

Got my BC N+ put in yesterday. Making some weird clunking/knocking noises though.... Apart from that, my car seems to handles A LOT better now :D

i quickly made an account and went to checkout to see how much postage would cost and its $40 normal so $1339 for D2's.
For those using them, how you find it? not too rough?
For street they're rough enough..
For track they're abit soft although the fd's are fat thats what might be a reason.
And yes they are adjustable with height and damper to suit ur liking.

yeah i've seen those pics before and thats always what people refer to when someone asks about d2 lol? is it an isolated incident or is it re-occuring?

i had D2's in my corolla long time ago, started leakin oil after 1 yr, no track day runs, just sum Mt Nebo cruises... dats y i will never buy tw or china made coilovers again. had JIC in my second car, great quality, u can actually feel its the shocks dats doin the work not just the springs holding the car up like wat it felt with D2... (they might hav changed in quality i dunno, its 4 yrs ago when i had D2)
my opinion, save up more and get sumthin better... u'll save alot more in the end, especially on parts that will eventually "wear out"
Very old link and thats with the OLD design. Note the damper adjustment is only 15 way whilst the new/current one is 36 way. I've looked for information on what actually happened or proof but i could not find anything for it. The bottom of the actual shock "holder" is also now made of steel instead of plastic which makes things alot stiffer.Quote:

anyone with skunk2 proS or sport shocks? really wanna find out how low is the sport shocks and if the pro S gives rough ride quality...
this kinda refers to the wheel size thread. im just wondering what brand of springs are there that are fairly stiff? im running 19" wheels with 235 tyres and they kinda scrub on dips and fast, hard turns and when there's people in the back.
i dont really have the money for a good set of coilovers atm, but i would like to resolve this issue of scrubbing with a set of stiff springs.
Well as you know i have a similar issue.. I'm guessing most springs would be lowering springs. Which won't help with the scrubbing. But maybe with a camber kit it might be tucked in just enough.

got them installed last week.. and they have settled in over the weekend..
still waiting for another few days before i lower my car more.. its on the highest setting at the back and front for now.. i need a camber kit.. *nudge FallenAngel*
anyhow, they frickin awesome! i have them set on +12 F and +12 R stiffness..
my car handles like a go kart, loving it. ride is very comfy yet still stiff..
best bang for buck! would recommend them to anyone who can afford them :thumbsup:

more comfortable ride on these crappy roads
can be lowered to the max, like literally touching the ground since they can be adjusted for "super low" settings
great responsiveness on turns
definitely reduce understeer (however, i've got on a rear sway bar as well)

be aware and go slow on bumps, steep hill dips, and accidently going over potholes as wheels will scrap underside (due to soft spring rating)
becareful when having 3 or more ppl in the car

adjust manually where u gotta take of the wheels and need to take out springs to adjust whereas electronically can be done from a device attached to the top mount of the coilovers to adjust... saves the trouble in having to take off the rims everytime to adjust the clicksQuote:

most coilovers have the damper adjustable knob at the top... adjusting the springs will allow you to change the spring rate to match with your damper settings.

you cant adjust spring rates on coilovers.. only adjust the height and damper.. pretty sure the only way you can **** up the spring rates is if your springs arent captive. springs are made to a certain stiffness and will stay on that..

of coz the spring rate can be adjusted, you can tighten or loosen the spring to adjust its spring rate, and becoz adjusting the spring rate will affect the travel of the shock, so most ppl will just set the springs to "just tight" and then match it with the damper rate.
Ah fair enough... I might get something with adjustable spring rates next time i get the money =D
I got 07 FD2 Sport
I bought a set of S-tech and box says FD2 - but when I went to get it installed the installer says it fron springs do not fit the car. I googled the TEIN code on the box and it says it is for CTR FD2R from TEIN website japan.
Now, does that mean I return it to the shop and get the FD1 TEIN S-tech? reading the trail people have posted up that AUSD model FD1 and FD2 (sport) share the same suspension?
Can someone please confirm - and if so, what about spring rate? because FD2 engine is heavier>
i think fd1 and fd2 can share same springs for SOME brands. Try asking the store who sold it to you? or u can ask some traders here who sell tein, although i think the few traders who do aren't active anymore =/.

hi guys, am new to this topic and need some advises. looking for a set of coilover for the civic sports, which mostly for street daily drive. capable with the stock 17" wheels or further 18" wheels upgrade, lowering and damper adjustable are prefered. heard about the tanabes sustec pro-nf and the mugen 50000-XKP-K0S0, but dunno if they will suit for daily driving, any recommendations? btw my buget is not over $1500.
you are going to need more than 1500 if you dont want the tanabes
cusco zero gt goes for 2k
buddy club n+ goes for 2.5k
tein ss goes for 3k
skunk2 pro c ~2k
the basic skunk2 (pro-s) goes for ~1.3k, take a look at that, but you are going to need to use some of your oem suspension
tanabe sustecs are for 1.5k right?.. hmmm tempting lol. anyone got any experience with tein stech springs?

Thanks guys, but i saw a previous post on the d2 kit from Just Jap and the damper broken after 2 months, are they reliable? D2 or Tanabes is better for daily drive and having a better reputation? And do I need a camber kit or top mount extra when I change the coil? Btw can someone tell me the stock spring rate of our civic (the higher the rate, the stiffer the ride is?)? should come as a unit. some of the coilovers require you to use your OEM topmount.
